Anyone have their XBox on a wireless network?

If so, how does it work? And also, what router do yuo suggest that is compatible with XBox.

I want to get mine on a wireless connection, since my PC is in a different room in my house. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

any router will do (linksys or netgear being the front runners)

    you also need a bridge

no dropped packets or lag using wireless connection to the xbox.

Re: Anyone have their XBox on a wireless network?

My friend has his XBOX on wireless. I know he uses a Linksys Router and this. His XBOX and router are on completely different floors and he has always had good connection with XBL.

I've got a PS2, no XBOX but I also use a wireless connection. My router and console are on the same floor and never have any problems. However, I use something a little different than my buddy, partly because his adapter is XBOX only. I guess you could call me a Linksys fanboy but I use this and this. There is a Wireless-G Game Adapter as well but when I bought mine, there was only the B available in Canada so I got B. The G and B still are 100% compatible.

        Hope this helps.

If I were to use both of the Linksys parts, would I be able to hook up my XBox AND my PS2 at the same time? I know if you get the XBox wireless adapor you can't, just wondering if it's a third party gateway, if both systems could be on at the same time.?

                yes

you can either continue to unhook one console to connect the other

                OR

buy a hub(switch) plug the bridge ( or game adapter) into the hub's uplink port , and plug the ps2 and xbox into the hub.

i hub(switch) is just a dumbed down router. If you want to you can actually purchase anouther router and use it as a quasi access point/hub

oh never mind, i am letting my geekiness get the best of me.

Another (cheaper) way to do it is to buy a Wireless router (check the compusa ads, I got mine for $30.00) and one wireless AP. The catch is that you need to move your cable/dsl modem to the area of the xbox/ps2. By yuor TV, you hook the Ps2 and XBox up to the wireless router via ethernet cable (wired link) and connect the cable/dsl modem to the wireless router. So, you have the wireless router and Modem by the TV. In the PC room, you put the Wireless AP on your PC. This can be done for around $50.00 with all of the rebates going on now.
