Shenmue 3???

Has anyone heard anything about a possible Shenmue 3? Is this series dead?

I never even got through the first 15 minutes of the first one on the dreamcast. I hated walking around and just asking people for info, but people who've finished it all say that they love it so I might try this third one.

Yea, if you only played the first 15 minutes, you won't like it. The first one doesn't really start getting good until the 2nd disk.

Shenmue 2 was great though. Way better than the original.

Wasn't this intended to be a 10 game series or something insane like that? I had one, I beat it and it seemed like I just finished chapter one of a 200 page book, so much forshadowing and all kinds of things to come. For some reason i remember reading something about Shenmue being a really long, already planned, series of games. I never played part 2, so I don't know if they started speeding up the story or not, but part 2 wasn't a very big deal(I didn't even know it was out for a while) so I don't know if they'd continue with the whole series if the ones they made aren't really that popular......

part 1 was pretty fun, but I obviously didn't get hooked enough to get into further games in the series....

It was supposed to be something like a 10 chapter series. Shenmue was Chapter 1, and then Shenmue 2 was chapters 2-5 maybe? I know it was more than one. I think Shenmue 3 is supposed to be the final game in the series if there is one. Judging by the lack of any information on it, it looks doubtful.

I know the game cost a lot to make, and didn't sell well, so it isn't that shocking. It is disapointing though.

I think there is a video on the 2nd one that recaps what happened in the first one. I'd play it, the story doesn't get complicated at all until the 2nd one.
