So I can play most songs on Expert and 5* them and get 97+%. However, La Roux's Bulletproof is killing me for some reason. It just messes with my mind and I can get in rhythm for a second, but then I lose it for whatever reason and struggle all song to get back into one. It isn't incredibly difficult or anything, but it is my Achilles heel at the moment.

I'll be contributing a bit more this weekend. I haven't had a chance to play the past week. I'll never get over Philliesfan's scores..lol.
I'll hit 95% on a song on Expert and then compare scores and I'm nowhere close. I think it's missing the occasional note/chord and not utilizing the whammy bar and star power properly... you have some impressive scores man.Comment

Older PS3 guitars work.

I have been playing these games for about 10 years now. Ever since Guitar Hero 1. Just takes a lot of practice. Bass is by far my best instrument followed by guitar. Some guitar solos are way too difficult though. Drums I am very average and only play on Hard.

Thanks. I play songs multiple times sometimes and look at note patterns to see where overdrive is best to be used. Sometimes you have to use it right away though when you fill it. I always try to not have a full bar and then have more overdrive notes on top of it. Try to get as much of it as you can. I am a leaderboard chaser. Always trying to beat scores and get into top 10's.

I remember GH 1, 2, 3 and RB1 (High School) and maybe even GH World Tour/Metallica/Van Halen in the early 20's being a big deal. I just can't play this game the same as I did back then.
I just can't hammer on/off and hit sweeps on this game like I could years ago. I've regressed something crazy.Comment

Do you play with the "custom solos" (forget what they are called). I turn it off because it just doesn't feel right.

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)
Agreed. Some songs that have bland solos it can be fun to create your own riffs but my son and I play a ****nton of Rush and I want those solos to be note for note.
