Space Engineers

Searched and did not see a thread for this game on here. Was wondering if there are any others out there playing this. I just picked it up since it was on sale this weekend and am having a blast.

Buddy and I are playing survival mode. I made a small drill ship that has 5 drills on it. After we got our feet set and had a decent enough base, we're starting to build more. I am in the process of building a large ship that I will transport my drill ship on and it'll have one large storage container on it to store all the ore I get. This way I can stay out on mining trips for much longer times and not have to fly back and forth 20 kilometers every 5 minutes because my drills fill up.

Eventually this large ship will probably turn into our home and will have a refinery and everything else on it. However, to start things off it will just be a drill/ore transporter.

This was my ship very early on. It has changed quite a bit. This is just a baby picture of it.

I've never played it, but I have played Kerbal Space Program before, which was pretty cool to me.. nothing special.

This looks kind of cool, I'm on a Steam spending spree so... maybe soon.

I own it, only tried it once. Couldn't figure out what the hell I was supposed to be doing so I never played it again lol.

Haha, our first hour was just a mess. I had no idea what to do. After tonight I finally got my larger ship built enough right now. It took a couple hours to get it built to how it is now and it's just the beginning and will be going through so much change. I accidentally hit our asteroid with the ship when I only had 3 thrusters on it allowing it to go forwards and backwards, but nothing else. Then I accidentally somehow got the thing barrel rolling through space at half a meter per second. So you had this huge 200 yard ship twirling away from me while I was trying to build thrusters on the top and bottom of it to stop the twirling.

I finally got all of the thrusters on top, underneath, and on the sides built, but it was still slowly spinning still. So we landed our small ships on the side that was rising relative to our asteroid station and we stuck our landing gear onto the ship, used our small ship thrusters to push down and were able to counter the spin and get the thing to stop. However I still have a lot left to build, but the ship is just sitting a few hundred meters away from our station, so each time I need supplies I have to take a longer trip, but for right now I am willing to do that instead of risking this thing to get hit by a 3rd meteor shower while near our station. Being survivor mode it's only light armor, so meteors still shred it apart.
