Heroes of the Storm

Anybody else playing this? I just got into the closed beta. Its my first MOBA and so far I am liking it. I have played as Raynor, Lili, and Arthus so far- basically whoever was free to play this week. I got to level 6 and have opened up my daily quests.

Yeah I'm up to Level 10 or 11. Coming from 250+ hours of Dota 2 I really like HotS. Mostly for dialing down the complexing, upping the importance of team play and most importantly being able to finish games in 20-25 minutes.

Raynor and Murdain are my go two for dailies. Saving up dough to see who else I want.

Will add you on B.Net although my hours are pretty lame to play with North Americans.

Bumping this up because we got an official Release Date.

Open Beta starting May 20th, with release coming June 2nd. Hopefully they have another map and 3-4 more heroes by release.

Also, ESPN2 is airing the Heroes of the Dorm final match live... which is weird but yay e-sports.

Bumping this up, as Open Beta has started.

Hopefully some of you can pick up this game and enjoy it It's less toxic than other MOBAs and is quite fun. Also the games are 20-30 minutes instead of 40-60.

Also, I love Abathur.

I'm going to try and get into it. I tried Dota 2 a few times but didn't have the time or patience to get past the steep learning curve.

This seems simpler, especially since there's no in game shop, where I had no idea what I should buy for each character without looking at guides.

I'm gonna take this time to pimp a friend's stream for this game.

It's absolutely fantastic for learning, though it does run a bit later at night most days. There's normally a couple hundred viewers, he gives away mousepads (and other assorted Steelseries products if they send them to him) and stuff.

Any question is fair game, and this week (since his normal partner is out for this part) I'll be helping him cast viewer games for the stream. There's a wide range of players that get to play, from people just starting to players like myself who are pretty darn good at the game, to people that have MMR (matchmaking rating) that rival some of the world's best players.

The viewer games are really fun though. Great learning tool as you have people that know about the game announcing it, the community over there is fun and any idiots get dealt with real fast. We go over talent builds, what plays work, what was a mistake, what was good and pretty much anything else you can think of with the game.

Same thing here, I play quite a bit at a relatively high level (I can hold my own against the top players if the team is semi-competent that I am on) and I'll answer any questions (either on here, over in the stream or on BNet.) I dunno what it is about this game, but it's hooked me way more than LoL/DOTA2/etc. and I enjoyed those games quite a bit.

I'm also kind of interested in going over my replays and pointing out the bad and good plays I made in them on YouTube, as that is one of the best ways to learn I feel - but no idea if anyone would be interested in something like that.
