If you have wireless internet in your house and want to use XBC through your computer, then you need a crossover cable(which is the system link cable you can buy from Microsoft, or buy it cheaper at Best Buy, just look for a crossover cable). The Xbox Connect site has something like 5 or 6 different options on how you can set it up to work, depending on how your house internet is setup. If it says you need a crossover cable, it won't work with a normal ethernet cable.

Another concern is if you are using a store-bought hub(Netgear or some other generic brand name) and you want to hook up your xbox through your computer(if you are using wireless or if you have two ethernet ports) then you will have to change the IP address of your router for it to work.

No matter what the setup, there is a way to do it, it might just take some work.

As for XBC itself, it's a really cool program. Halo is by far the most popular game on there, but there are a lot of games you can play on it. A lot of the people who play Halo on there are SICK. Make sure to look for those "noob" games if you're just starting out.
