Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda
That is kind of what I figured. I trust most of the opinions here more than Reviews and such. Honestly it was a wait until August/September even without issues. I have learned the hard way that to keep my backlog down I just have to quit buying.... uhm stuff, yeah stuff. I know myself and once I buy MLB The Show, I play it and maybe one other game for the majority of the Summer. So until I beat Horizon, I am not buying anything else. But this is my next purchase as I truly love this Franchise. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Thats true, but it looks like it will be better after the patch, so waiting seems to be a good strategy on this one."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Definitely glad I waited...sounds like they are addressing pretty much all of what made me hesitate. I'm especially curious to see just how much character creation options and quality improve.Comment

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda
I've enjoyed the game quite a bit. It is better than what the reviewers are saying; some of the reviews have an axe to grind with EA, or were looking for ME4, which this isn't. The combat is the most fun I've had with a 3PS in a long time, the RPG elements have returned, the dialogue is more nuanced than the Picard/Dirty Harry approach of the trilogy and while some of the characters take awhile to get going, there were no duds among the party members in my opinion.
I am nearly done with it, but I'll wait until the patch to start a second play through.Comment

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda
I need to get back into this. The show coming out killed my momentum. Need to clear a few minor missions and i am right on the last mission of my male ryder playthrough. Will wait for the patch for my female run.Moderator

Getting a patch for a game you're already enjoying instead of waiting for a patch so you can start enjoying a game is awesome, lol

Yes, every single game gets patches these days, but surely you see a difference between this game and most other AAA releases?"You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda
ok, well this will be my last beating of the dead horse, but this game seems to have more technical issues that need patching than most games, so I don't think its fair to lump it in with most other games that have much smaller patches.

some of the animation issues are not really "bugs", just poorly made animations.
I haven't ran into many bugs myself. PeeBee constantly turning the wrong way in conversations on the Tempest, ran into a save/load bug once, but got around it by loading another save(the game auto-saves a lot), and an issue where my character was leaning partially into the ground at an angle when i got out of the nomad and the nomad going invisible, that was fixed by saving/loading. I'm 55 hours in.
pre-launch, on PC, there was an issue for people that had Corsair software installed that prevented that game from even loading, but that was fixed by launch day.
there are plenty of things I would like to changed, like being able to go on the tempest without having to leave orbit every time for example. but nothing "game-breaking" or making me wish i waited on getting the game.Comment
