Yep, for me the story is the only reason I bought the game. From the beta you could tell how things will get repetitive but since I am interested in the story first, everything else is much more palatable.

To be fair this really isn't a story centric game tho. I mean, Far Cry had me more engrossed story wise, but I just love open world and the mix of stealth, real world military operations.

Maybe I'm not far enough yet. I've only spent the past few days working on the opening zone. I played 5 mins of the beta so it was all new to me and have taken my time there so far.

Also, one of my criticisms is the fact this feels so much like Far Cry with just Ghost overlay. Curious if others who have been FC fans feel same way. Still really like this game, but wish it was a bit more it's own game than FC on Ghost-steroids.

PC patch incoming in a little while

          Hello Ghosts,

At 8:30pm UTC today, we’re going to apply a patch 1.1.5 for the PC version (Uplay & Steam) of Ghost Recon Wildlands.
This intermediary patch, is providing you with some major fixes and improvements regarding compatibility and performances.

Players in game need to reboot the game to apply the patch. Its size is up to 4 GB depending on your client.
You can still keep on playing and wait before applying the patch. An in-game notification will let you know when the patch is available.
Please note that in order to play co-op with friends, you will need to all have the same version of the game.

Please be aware that the patch will automatically download the next time you launch the game, so if you are already in a game session, you will need to reboot it to benefit from the improvements.
If you’re planning on playing tomorrow, we recommend you to preload the patch starting tonight.

Please find below an overview of main changes:

          1. Multi-GPU improved support

We have been working with our partners to improve both SLI and Crossfire support. Various stuttering and graphical corruption issues have now been fixed.

          2. Quad-core CPUs improved support

Several freezes and performance issues have been resolved for players using quad-core CPUs, notably Intel i5 based setups.

          3. AMD graphic cards improved performances
          4. Enhanced mouse navigation in store menu
          5. 4K menu background scaling implemented
          6. Several crash sources have been addressed
          7. Improved Ansel support and fixed bugs
          8. Other bug fixes & improvements.

The development team will continue to address existing issues in the next update that will be available around the end of March/early April across all platforms.

We will update this thread to let you know about the patch availability.

Thank you again for your support, Ghosts!

You guys use suppressors on all guns?

Right now I do... But I really dont like the hit assault rifles damage takes with it on.

Currently thinking of running no suppressor on assault rifle and suppressor on sniper rifle.

              Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands

I have an i5 and periodically get hard freezes (entire computer locks up for 3-8 seconds).

In multiplayer, things continue for my friends, but then snap back to where things were before I froze and I can continue controlling.

We flew over a bunch of cliffs this way / smashed into mountains while flying, only to have it undone when I unfroze, lol.

Hope that's what the patch is addressing when it mentions that. Haven't seen it as much post-release.

Suppressors on at all times. It's pretty easy to remove the suppressor once the firefight gets hairy so no reason not to have it on.

And I just found out there's a advanced suppressor skill which removes the damage reduction... So I'm unlocking that as soon as I can.

I run suppressors on everything right now. But am looking to run this set up soon as well. Suppressor on sniper is godly.

My favorite area so far in the game is INCA CAMINA - SMUGGLING (LA CABRA BOSS) I love going into the snowy mountain tops trying to destroy the cocain shipments from the crashed airplanes. Fun!
