All of them pretty much haven't felt like Ghost Recon to me aside from Ghost Recon 1/Desert Siege/Island Thunder.

ROFL at some of the dudes talking about a cover system when we used to play Graw they'd all scatter and get us all killed for trying to go gung ho at the AI.

The Gamespot video looked better than what was on that e3 panel, but hey, its still alpha

Im sure ill get to test before release

        Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands

I have my own issues with the myriad of videos coming out of E3 (repetitive friendly AI chatter for downed/spotted enemies, etc), but a stick-to-cover mechanic is not one of them.

I've put about 1,000 hours into Arma 3 since buying it last year (largely why I'm not on the fourms here much these days) and at least for me, a great tactical shooter can be great without it.

It's not that I don't want it (I do), but what's most important here is that the game should punish you for not playing tactically. Guns blazing approaches should significantly put the player at a disadvantage and I haven't seen that at all in the reveals. That's most worrisome to me.

Stick-to-wall cover should get looked at but what I saw tells me the game has larger issues IMO. I'm not discounting the fact that it might have been put on easy mode so journalists at the conference didn't get overwhelmed but boy oh boy if they didn't, this game went from my #1 most hyped to something I might pass on.

The very best part about Arma is having to take things methodically and slow. There's no better feeling than lying in the grass or shadows waiting for the right time and direction from which to strike. 10 minutes, 20 minutes, however long it takes to make my move doesn't bother me. In fact, I find it breath-taking. But to run into these bases and destroy them so carelessly as seen in GRWL is worrisome. That would get boring fast.

My biggest fear on that is they just go ahead and add more gadgets or skills or up the enemy count to counter this complaint (it's all over the Internet). No. If it's not realistic it's not a Tom Clancy game and not something I'll pull the trigger on.

This isn't Ghost Recon, this is GTA V or Just Cause. I wanted it so bad prior to E3 and Division.

Speaking of old school GRAW & GRAW 2, whatever happened to the og host of the 16 man sessions Sully?

            That's going back to 06, 07.

Gonna keep posting in their forums and on twitter about adding the cover system. Forget campers.. let it out in MP then, but it should be in this game.

You guys remember Ghost Recon 2 or Graw having a cover system?

I don't think they did actually, and we had tons of fun.

I went to look just to be certain and sure enough, nope.

I barely remember those two games. Socom's best games never had a true cover system and I had a lot of fun with those. There was still just enough tactic with the third person view. If the timing is right with my life and other games I'll probably still buy if for nothing other than the SP Campaign.

It's a fun time to be a gamer. There is going to be shooters available that cater to everyone with different styles of combat, time periods, etc.

If it turns out the game isn't for me, I'm sure plenty of others will still enjoy it. Most any MP game can be fun with the right people to play with and I've always had great experiences with OSers.

This game doesn't need a cover system it's suppose to be a find the info or guy your suppose to take out using head shots or sneak attacks. I don't look at this game like a strict stealth game. This game reminds me a lot of the original Mercenaries on PS2. Looking forward to playing solo or with guys on here.

GRAW had a cover system, the original Ghost Recon games didn't, but those were first person games and much more tactical and slower paced.

A cover system isn't necessarily just about stealth. Adds a layer to regular combat but I digress, bottom line is we'll know when we play it. I'm holding out hope it's a great game

                                You're right, it did not.

But if a game is shooting (no pun intended) for using terms like 'tactical' then a cover system at the very least should be implemented.
