    Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

It has the outstanding voice acting and character development of TLOU and The Witcher 3, the tight platforming elements of UC4, the RPG and resource gathering of Far Cry 3, 4 and Primal and graphically this is without a doubt the best I have seen this generation.

It is a game on a grand epic scale with plenty of organic side missions and camp/tower defense/take over that weave seamlessly into the main storyline.

Speaking of main plot it is a fantastic mystery and unravelling the lore is great and interesting.

    The map is huge.

Go get this game and plunge a good 50-60 hours into it and you will come out of it very satisfied.

Combat is tight, you need to evaluate your surroundings at all times.

So far for me and I am in 15 hours now, it is getting better and better each hour I play.

    Game is truly special.

LOVE the time of day option in PhotoMode -- the environment/lighting in this game is absurd!

Some shots I took last night:

Yeah, the combo of high res textures, lighting effects, draw distance, and foliage density make this one of the most "screenshot friendly" games I've played

One thing i wish this game had was a dying light type night environment of increased danger. Maybe not to the level of that game but enough so that i really need to keep in mind the edsy/night cycle. Otherwise this game is amazing thus far.

Just did that first level 8 cauldron. Man that was awesome, can't wait to see what the rest look like. It was the first time I actually used all my weapons and laid out traps.

I hit lvl 17 last night. I think the statistics page says I'm only 11 percent through the game. The quests I have are lvl 12 so I might be a little over leveled but I just can't stop running everywhere on foot and gathering/hunting everything I can

I switched to very hard a little back, right before I found the first pack of bellowvbacks (that's the name, right?) and that was a fun challenge.

This would be awesome and kind of aligns with what I am hoping for in a future update, some sort of "survivor mode" or new game plus kind of deal

I'm still struggling to beat the sigma cauldron.........I've tried a couple ofdifferent approaches to it but no success.
I'm now out in the wilds again looking to level up a fair bit before I go back & try for a third time.

Is that the one I did, the very first one? I don't remember names to be honest.

I don't think leveling will help much other than unlock a skill or two. If you have the tripcaster or rope caster, use them a lot. You can land several critical attacks.

I haven't seen a cauldron yet, am I doing something wrong? Do they tie into a story mission to be unlocked or something?

I got past that spider thing in the cauldron, and then I accidentally fell down a hole and it sent me back to before I beat the spider thing. Haven't played since. LOL.

If it finishes with a bellowback in a shielded semi sphere at the end it's the same one.
I've arrived at that point with limited tripcaster ammo & I haven't acquired a rope caster yet.
I will level up & increase my supplies before going back.
I could drop the difficulty but don't want to dumb the game down,it's a great
game but I would still lose interest if it is to easy.
