I think that's probably the one thing I don't like. I don't think fast travel should be tied to resources. That said it's not like those resources are hard to gather, I just find it unnecessary busy work. And I hate busy work in games.

I'm not as tough as I thought. I'm contemplating moving back down to hard. If big bots like sawtooths or bellowbacks are involved it's pretty much game over if I have multiple aggro'd

Dodging sawtooths is giving my fits as well

Not a complaint, love that there's a challenge on very hard just can't decide if it's too hard for me or just right

I got tossed around a bit in that first cauldron but I got through it. Gotta start using the whole arsenal and setting up trips. Haven't used traps at all yet either. Probably should start playing with those.

Like JoshC, I really didn't know much at all about this game until seeing a trailer video on the PS Store, and checking out the thread here. After seeing the feedback, especially from people I trust and respect, I went out to GameStop today and picked the game up.

                    Holy ****

I'd mentioned that I was in a bit of a gaming lull. Well, this is the game that will snap me out of it. I spent 3 hours playing this game and it felt like 20 min. Everything about this game is spot-on; graphics, sound, music, story and gameplay. Side quests feel organic when they pop up, too.

I havent even made it to the Proving yet, lol. I've been gathering items like mad, and just exploring the vast areas around me. There's so much to do, but the beauty is you can do as much or as little as you'd like.

Thanks, all, for talking this game up. I'm not a big RPG guy, but this game fits me just fine and feels similar to The Last of Us, which I really enjoyed.

Can't wait to dive back into this game tomorrow, and the next day, and the next ...

Pretty sure I just played this game for close to 8 hours straight and I didn't even realize so much time had gone by.

Just finished the first cauldron. Was super cool. Great environment inside. Looked great. Finishing it got me to level 25 and I figured that was a good time to stop or else I would be up all night.

This game was worth the wait, to say the least

Yeah, the first Cauldron was awesome. Looking forward to playing the rest. RPG aspects wise, the game is light on all the RPG elements. I do believe that they will be expanded on in the eventual sequel. One thing that I like a lot is the tutorials when buying or acquiring a new weapon. Instead of the same boring lame tutorials, they actually become mini activities that actually reward you for completing them (just make sure that the tutorial you're doing is the "active" quest) with XP. It gives you incentive to actually do them as opposed to ignoring them. Will definitely get back to playing tomorrow evening after work.

Up to level 28 now and have explored a fair amount of the map. It's going to take a hell of a game to beat this for my GOTY.

I've been just chipping away at side quests, errands, and cauldrons today. I think I've completed 3 cauldrons to this point and my quest log is empty now minus the main quest. Looking like tomorrow is the day to advance the story again.

LOL....I know, right? Well, I needed another game like I need a bullet to the head....especially with ME: Andromeda and The Show coming out soon....thus the "hate"

But my lord, as someone who gleefully played the last two Tomb Raiders almost exclusively with a bow, this is awesome. Fun gameplay and the story (so far) has kept me going...I'm genuinely curious how the story will unfold....and that is something I MUST have to keep playing.

                            Really, really good stuff!!!

There is no such thing as an hour long session with this game.

I have to approach it like I did The Witcher 3... don't pay unless I know I have time to kill.

I'm finding that half the fun with this game is not really knowing what's going to happen next or even exactly what's going on. The smallest discoveries and new information are important.

Definitely going to be a worthy Game of The Year contender

I really like the night scenes

I should be asleep right now but I just wanna keep playing lol
