    Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

I have taken like 200 screen shots the last 48 hours. I'm addicted. Wish I could post them all but I feel I have posted too many already. Imagine in 4-5 years or whenever the next console wave happens and we get games that look even better than this but with better draw distanct/less pop in due to improved CPUs and RAM.

Also, am I crazy, or it normal that I sometimes get a TLOU wave of nostalgia when playing this game. The setting/story and whatnot are obviously not even remotely connected but sometimes when walking around decaying buildings and run down structures it kind of reminds me of city segments of TLOU. Maybe I am just off my rocker and super thirsty for TLOU 2?

After I complete this I will be playing The Witcher 3 and MLB The Show 17 for the next year (and Madden 18)

So my year (2017) in gaming is set.

      Lol

PS4 isn't letting me upload to YouTube. So weird. Other people on some forums having same issue with no known fix yet.

Anyway, just did Cauldron ZETA. Thought I had a great plan to take out the baddie. It uh, didn't go as planned.

That's hilarious... I was thinking wow that's a great idea. That's a bad looking dude I've been skeptical of hitting the next Cauldron.

Game is getting pretty tough for me, these larger beasts really don't mess around!

Yeah man. Once I opened up more of the map a lot of the resources I stockpiled for the first 40 hours of play quickly were used up. The bigger bots are pretty tough on Very Hard and takes considerable resources to take down some of the elite bots. I had like 600 blaze at one point, now none LOL. Oh boy

Not complaining, I love it. I came into this game straight from Nioh so I was ready for difficult battles. I did find one area where there were TWO Thunderjaws right next to each other and I said forget that noise. No way

Completed that earlier on my first attempt. I completely destroyed the baddie in there. Of course, not really having any problems anymore against any of the enemies. Hehehe.

I think that I don't handle each robot strategically enough. Some of them I have memorized the weaknesses and weak spots, and others I just attack like I am playing Arkham City, and get tagged up hard.

Try using other techniques. For example, a corruption arrow can do work against double tunderjaw valley.

Tearburst arrows are generally your best bet against all mechs really. Followed up with a freeze, and massive dps from hard point arrows. (Assuming your mods are on point).

I have been using the rope caster more and pounding tied down mech's. I am trying to override my Second long neck but the area is crawling with those crocodile mech's. Game certainly is far more intense now on my journey to Meridian

I need to use this more. I rarely use the ropecaster. I find myself sticking to the same four weapons and not switching out based on the situation. The ropecaster, sling, war bow, and rattler just sit in my inventory un-used. I gotta get better at that

I'm over 80 hours in. 48% completion. Already maxed out my level at 50. Weapons im using are the Shadow Tripcaster, Shadow Ropecaster, Shadow War Bow and Shadow Blast Sling. Have only died once or maybe twice since getting those four weapons.

Game is awesome. Best game thus far in 2017. Visually beautiful, technically sound, no weird bugs or glitches. Excellent gameplay. Solid story and characters. I'm still going to Meridian story wise as im trying to clear out the entire desert area before doing so.

                            Seriously, what an amazing game!!!

I've been using Tripcaster, Sharpshot, Hunter Bow, and Blast Sling

Think I will keep Blast Sling and Tripcaster but switch out one of the bows for the ropecaster

I love the Sling for the sticky bombs and the bow for my fire arrows. The rest are just bonuses for me. Using the explosives with the tripcaster and then sticky bombs is an awesome combination.
