It's pretty annoying. At this point, I mostly focus on reading the subtitles to avoid it.

It's too bad that little things like that pop up in an otherwise great looking game.
Its weird, but for me the sound is noticeably "not right" about a quarter of the time.

Along with the syncing problem you talk about above it is almost impossible for me to ascertain direction from sounds in this game. You can hear the stomping of a robot and think its right behind you, but it is literally on the other side of a ridge. Sounds that come from my right side headphones aren't always to the right of Aloy.

Then there is the lag between coming in and out of focus and the heightened sounds that linger for a minute or so.

I've been using my Sony Golds the whole time and I don't remember there being any audio device settings when I looked at the beginning of the game. I'm hoping they can correct the sound implementation in a future patch.

I've switched back and forth between my Golds and Plats and this problem exists on both, for me. The 3D sound just seems a little off

            Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

So I encountered my first rockbreaker just now. It was enlightening.

            <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/FI9JQsKEsv4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

First couple attempts went like this. I found out after this first attempt that there are actually TWO rockbreakers in this area and it's very hard not to aggro both of them at the same time. Needless to say I ended up "cheesing it" and hid across the river, behind a big rock, and just picked them off. Something kind of funny happened though, towards the end a single behemoth and a single longleg randomly came strolling up all casually out of nowhere and randomly started attacking the rockbreakers. It was like some Godzilla vs Mothra stuff goin on. Helped me out so I can't complain.

            And now, the adventure continues....

Honestly id spend the extra 100 and get a pro. the newest update REALLY enhances existing games on the pro and you do NOT need a 4K tv to see the differences in Regular ps4 and pro features within games.

                      The struggle is real.

I will just have to juggle this, Nier, Andromeda, and The Show to the best of my ability. My goal to finish the game this weekend is going horribly.

Yea I think you and I were on a similar tempo of the game for a while, you being slightly ahead of me in level and progress. If you're not gonna finish there's no way I do.

When ME drops I'm going to try to stick to co-op till I finish horizon. I don't like playing two similar games at the same time, single player rpg in this case.

                            Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

My struggle is now with For Honor and GRW. I have no interest in baseball or ME:A and after watching the Easy Allies review for Nier: Automata, I decided to pass on it despite it being in my possession right now via GameFly.

As for Horizon, what an amazing game. Played on hard difficulty. Best visuals this generation. Excellent music, sound and voice acting. Excellent story and lead character. Rest of the characters range from solid to good. Excellent ending sequence. Great story missions the second half as everything really picks up story and character wise. Gameplay is superb.

Just under 130 hours with everything completed except for the hunting grounds as I completed only 8/15 of them. Complaint wise, there's a few. Main one is no mini-map. Like seriously, WTF is my mini-map? I hate the compass. Add in the horrible GPS/waypoint system and it's bad at worse, annoying, aggravating and frustrating at best. Especially when the cursor on the world map is actually based on the direction of the camera as opposed to which direction Aloy is facing.

When aiming, I wish the camera is pushed back. Every developer has a fetish with putting the camera up the character's *** when aiming. This limits the field of view especially when using the slingshot. Another complaint was when buying resources. ONE at a TIME is freaking annoying as hell. UGH. And since my setup revolved around blaze and fire and needing up to 6 blazes for one set of three slingshots, this resource was gobbled up quickly.

Not a fan of the focus but in fairness, I hate this gameplay mechanic in EVERY game that uses it's concept. I can understand night vision or sonar goggles like in a Splinter Cell or even GRW because it actually makes sense but in general, I wish this game mechanic would die. What saves it though is that unlike The Witcher III, you can highlight tracks, etc. and can then proceed as normal without being in focus.

Love the tutorials and all the side stuff with the tutorials really standing out to me for one particular reason - there's incentive to actually want to do and complete them. Never played any game that gives you incentive to play the tutorials. Cauldrons were excellent. Bandit camps were solid. Corrupted zones were cool. Love the Tallnecks especially when on top of one having a battle with a glinthawk.

The number one positive is the gameplay, the combat which outside of the camera view when aiming is simply a pleasure from stealth (which I love) to hack and slash to setting up traps, etc., it was all a pleasure. Hell, I went to and completed every machine location on the entire map. So damn smooth and responsive. Plus the machine AI was excellent. Smarter than I was expecting.

Wasn't into the overriding of machines as I only did it once during the beginning tutorial as I simply prefer to fight them all myself. Enjoyed the crafting and upgrading skills. All Far Cry ish. Story wise, starts good but ends even better.

Horizon Zero Dawn is simply a superb game and my second best game this generation despite me giving it the same rating of a 9.5/10. Only reason I put it as 1B instead of 1A to The Witcher III is that the side quests and contracts in The Witcher III for the most part had an actual story, background and characters to it that were far deeper than what they are in Horizon.

Granted, we're not even three months into 2017 but as of right now, Horizon: Zero Dawn is not only my current game of the year but all other games will be hard pressed to surpass it for me personally and just in general, everything the game does simply does it better than any other game released this year thus far and from visuals with 4K and HDR to music to sound to voice acting to gameplay to story and characters, as an overall complete package, Horizon: Zero Dawn is the best damn game since The Witcher III.

Didn't Easy Allies give Nier a 4.5 out of 5 (classified as "Excellent")? Or was it the gameplay shown in the review that turned you off?
