    Gameboy Advance Help

I've been thinking about getting a GBA for trips and such, and I was wondering if I could get some advice.

I'm wondering if I should go for the GBA or the new Gameboy model, DS is it? Plus, I have no clue as to what games are "must-haves" for GBA.

    Any advice would be great.

DS is not out yet, but if your waiting you could just wait for Sony's PSP. It will also play dvd's and cds as well as games. But the GBA SP is 70 if im not mistaken.

The PSP will be around $300 I believe. The Gameboy advance is already established and has great games. I have one because I travel alot on business trips.

The DS is supposed come out this winter, you may want to wait for that, it will be backward compatible with GBA games. But, if you want to get a GBA soon, go with the GBA SP. I don't what type of games you like, but I can recommend the following:

Advance Wars (1 or 2) - fun strategy game
            Warioware - addictive mini-game fun
All Star Baseball - decent baseball game (if you like baseball)

The PSP will be cool, but it won't actually play DVDs or CDs unless they are in Sony's proprietary UMD format. Which basically means you can't play CDs and DVDs you already own, but will have to buy them specifically for your PSP.

            Good Luck!

If i am not mistaken it will only play special mini dvds that we be sold specifically for the PSP called UMDs, not regular DVDs.

I could be wrong but this is what I read in PSM. And it will play MP3s not CDs

Well, actually, any "typical" Nintendo games I enjoy, such as Donkey Kong, Mario, etc. Plus any "must-have" games for GBA, like Halo is to Xbox.

If you are a big fan of SNES era gaming, snatch up a GBA asap. Especially with the recent price drop. I have one that i bring on trips, etc, and I love it. There are some great games spanning serveral genres. Some of my favorites are:

                            Metroid Zero Mission
Any one of the 3 Castlevania games
                            Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Advance Wars 1 and 2 (great games)

Any one of the above games will keep you busy for hours.
