Max Drive>Sharkport?
Would a Maxdrive be worth purchasing if I already have a Sharkport? Also, how does the Maxdrive work? Does it have to be connected to both the comupter and the PS2 when uploading/downloading files between the two or do I load the files on to it and then move it to the other system, so I dont have a a chord limiting how close my PS2 has to be to my CPU? And finally, are most files that are available for sharkport available for MaxDrive, or would I be able to convert the file?Tags: None -

Re: Max Drive>Sharkport?
I got this mainly for the NCAA rosters... I have to say, it was ridiculously easy. No placing the PS2 near the computer, tripping over wires and crap... It was so simple, in fact, I was sure I had done something wrong. Five minutes at the most, and I had my complete set of rosters. Good times.Comment

Re: Max Drive>Sharkport?
I have a perfectly good working Sharkport, bought the Max Drive, and there's no comparison. In fact, I can sit here at work, download the roster and put it on the MaxDrive (it simply plugs into your USB port like a flash drive) and when I get home in the evening, upload the roster. My point? Not only does your PC not have to be close to your PS2, IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE AT THE SAME LOCATION. Definitely worth it.
(As for Sharkport Files not being compatible...I have yet to see a file lately that doesn't offer both .sps and .max options. My guess, based upon ease of use, we will see a phasing out of .sps files and will see only .max files in the future.)Comment

Re: Max Drive>Sharkport?
Definately feel ya here man. I had a sharkport and now have a maxdrive. The maxdrive is much easier to use. Works like a save card for your PC. No more of the cable link between your PC and PS2.
Its work the money esp if you plan on getting any ESPN or EA sports game.Comment
