Re: Mafia 3
Somewhat off-topic but: I'm seeing a Mafia II Remaster pop up... on my PS3? Mafia II was one of my favorite games of the last gen but there's no way they could release a decent remaster on PS3:
https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-...ore-update-457
EDIT: It doesn't say "remaster" on the store front but it does on the PS3 dashboard. Apparently it's the same exact game with PS Now support, so calling it a remaster would be borderline fraud. That $29.99 price tag is a bit steep as well.Last edited by Turbojugend; 08-31-2016, 10:54 AM.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: Mafia 3
Mafia II was a good game. I remember buying it on release day, finishing it and then buying both DLC packs. Overall, a good game but six years later, should be $10 max. To me, after two years, every game should be $10 especially digital. Seeing these insane prices is just like, seriously, WTF? And that's not a re-master. It's just the PS3 port added to PS Now.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
To make matters worse, this is being labeled a remaster in certain areas of the Sony experience (the image below is from their blog). This is a shady practice at best, I feel sorry for anyone who gets duped.
Anyway, I digress.Last edited by Turbojugend; 08-31-2016, 12:34 PM.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment

Re: Mafia 3
Mafia 3 tackles a rarity in the video game world: racism -
“Our overriding philosophy is authenticity,” says Bill Harms, lead writer on Mafia 3. “I think we’d be doing a disservice to everyone if we didn’t touch that (racism). At the end of the day, this is a crime story, it’s Mafia 3, it’s about criminals doing criminal things. But (racism) is a big part of the world that he (game protagonist Lincoln Clay) walks through. He experiences that.”My Specs:

Re: Mafia 3
Thanks for posting youvalss. Great read and I think they are taking a huge risk with this subject matter which is why I will be supporting it..Hope they can pull things off.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
Yeah, might be a risk. But it's good that they're doing it because 1) it's important. 2) It makes the game more authentic, which is what Mafia games are known for.My Specs:

Re: Mafia 3
That footage looks great!
Edit: to clarify, it still needs to be done in the best taste possible. As stated above, its important and important to do it RIGHT. Its also part of the times and and authenticity seems paramount to the series.

Re: Mafia 3
Most likely buying the deluxe edition since the season pass is $10 cheaper compared to buying the game and season pass separately. Funny thing is that the season pass was originally $20 and was increased to $30 at some point in the last month or so.
Nevertheless, the expansions sound good. I'm definitely in as Mafia III is my most wanted game for the rest of 2016.Comment
