    LawBreakers

New game from Cliff Bleszinski (of Gears of War fame). Looks like it's PC-only, as of now.

Earlier this week former Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski finally unveiled his much anticipated new game, a free-to-play, multiplayer shooter called LawBreakers. But the announcement didn't include a look at the actual game, instead settling for a trailer that was a mix of live-action and CG. But today you can actually take a look at LawBreakers in action thanks to a brief new gameplay trailer.

LawBreakers will be the first release from Bleszinski's new 40-person studio Boss Key, and it's a five-on-five, team-based shooter where law enforcement squares off against criminals. It takes place in a world where the laws of gravity don't always apply, and based on the new trailer it looks like that will result in some lightning fast, very vertical combat. The trailer shows off some of the game's characters, as well as what looks to be a big range of futuristic weapons. Plus, there's jetpacks.

LawBreakers doesn't have a specific release date, but it's expected to launch on PC next year.

Killed all hope for me when they said it will be Free-to-play. They always end up being some type of pay to win.

I wouldn't worry about it since Cliff Bleszinski had pointed out in multiple interviews how much he hates pay-to-win games.

It will probably be monetized with cosmetic items that don't affect gameplay like Team Fortress and DotA are.

Don't want to derail thread but 1 thing quickly regarding cross-play.

I've got to disagree with the thought process that F2P is a pay-to-win in current gaming today. Yes, in the past, I can't disagree with you. But as a player participating in cross-play with PC, Mac, and Linux users on War Thunder and Rocket League (was free on PS4) it's a positive one. I feel I have as good a chance as my cross-play counterparts in having a competitive experience. Even though I wasn't a big fan of Loadout, Planetside 2, DC Universe, and Warframe, there are many people still playing them and loving it.

When I look at games like Titanfall and Evolve and match them to my experiences with the 2 games I'm currently playing? Its like night and day in modes, updates, and more players participating. Both Free. Both Enjoyable.

If anything that is alarming, regarding Planetside 2, Daybreak Game Company (split from SOE) has disappointed in matching cross-play counterparts in competitive performance. With their delay in releasing Planetside 2 and are still working on the H1Z1 project. It sounds like those participating in the Beta may have an upside when released. Should say its still all rumored. But nevertheless, alarming? Yes.

In a world where Dirty Bomb, Team Fortress, Lawbreakers, Unreal Tournament, et al. are completely free, I can't ever see myself going back to the $60 game/$50 season pass model that COD and Battlefield continue to use. Battlefield 4's busted online experience was my breaking point.

I'll still pick up the odd $10-$20 game like CS: GO and Chivalry, so long as they're are openly moddable and expandable, but I'm done paying for $60 shooters that block modding and split up the community with monetized map packs.

I tried out the ps4 beta and it was a fun game to play. Im not use to looking up with the camera to ascend while sliding yet. I missed some objectives because i am either too low or over jump the target. A variety of objective based modes to cycle through.
