    Hopefully I can add this game to the sleeper thread in a few weeks.

    Shadow Hearts has a stupid Judgement Ring battle system:

    "Now in the off chance you've never seen the Shadow Hearts fight mechanic in action before, it's actually pretty simple: using what's called the Judgment Ring, players are given access to a circular roulette-like wheel whenever a specific action has been selected from their menu -- be it an attack, a magical spell, item usage, or whatever. And at the end of that wheel, is a constantly moving target needle that can then be stopped by a tap of the X button whenever you command it to. Of course, the only time you want that needle to stop is when it passes over one of several possible hit zones that lay on top of the Ring. How many hit zones are available depends on what character is selected, what action they're performing, and so on -- but if you can properly mark the hit zones before the needle reaches its end, you'll receive a successful hit for every zone you nailed.

    Missing hit zones can be catastrophic, as not only will it use up your actions for that turn, but also you won't be able to move again until your next one. If you can successfully mark the first hit zone, however, you will get at least one successful attack -- but since the game is so heavily reliant on chaining moves, it's not going to do the damage that a single attack in other RPGS normally would."

    Would you want to play an RPG game where you have to get a hit on a roulette wheel to execute your command in battle? I don't. The battle system is garbage and completely turns me off from the game. The first Shadow Hearts had the same crappy battle system. I didn't play that game and I won't play the sequel. If it had a normal battle system (select the command, perform the action), I would play it.

    I also notice that IGN sucks up to all of the game developers in their reviews, and their reviews are just sycophantic and not fair or objective. I think other sites, like http://rpgfan.com/ and http://www.gamespot.com are more objective in their reviews.

        I like the battle system. It is more interactive than just hitting a button to automatically attack. Great story in the first one as well
