Re: Doom 3
I think that there have been a couple of Doom 3 threads, you might look for others' opinions there.
As for mine, Doom 3 is the first PC game that has grasped my interest for a prolonged period of time since Duke Nukem 3D (released 1996). Can be a little repetitive at times and not quite the game of the year, but definitely a keeper and neverthelesss a very good game in my book.
One caveat though: Doom 3 has some elements of a survival horror game mixed in with the shooter concept. If your brother scares easily, I wouldn't recommend this one. -

Re: Doom 3
As long as he's got a geforce 4 and at least a 2mhz system he can run it at 800x600 at meduim detail and still find the game amazing looking and fun. I've got 2 PCs I've run it on... one that's 2yrs old and one that's 3 months old.
This is one of the few games I've played where the screen resoultion being lower doesn't really hurt it. ID did a very good job making sure the game was playable on older systems. It still looks great and it's still spooky.
If he likes Realtime Strategy games you might try out Rome: Total War.
Even though I don't play the games, The Sims 2 is getting great press and reader reviews, if he's into that style of gaming.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment
