Hoping it goes on sale soon. Looks really good and just like the type of pacing I prefer.

Its alot of fun, and very intense.

Base building.
The squad leader can put down thing for the team to build, FOB, ammo, barriers to help defend objectives.

Amazing smoke, it moves around like the wind is blowing rather then just blocking the area its in.
Built-in Radio.
G: Squad leader only chat
B: Squad only chat
V: Area chat

Nice mix of maps, heavy forest, middle eastern mountains.

Its like a modern Arma, without the clunky UI.

Its Early access, so still ton to be added like vehicles.

$40 does feel a bit high right now, but the Steam winter sale starts on the 22nd, so keep an eye out.

Not down for paying $40 for early access. I think this is the game Phobia was talking about a few days ago.

ArmA was early access as well and I believe it was more.

I don't see the issue if that's the retail price or cheaper than what it will retail for.

With that said, it's easier to pay more if the developers add quickly and not just every couple months.

I backed it on Kickstarter and got to play since July. First couple months there were updates every weekend when the servers went up. I haven't played much since the servers started being up 24/7 sometime in September. The updates have slowed down a bit but there are still like 2 or 3 a month I believe. They are pretty close to adding in the vehicles. They were planned to be put in when it hit steam but got delayed. So shouldn't be to much longer. The devs are extremely open about things. If anyone has any questions they are always around on reddit. reddit.com/r/joinsquad

I watched GoldGlove play this last night. Currently it seems to be pretty bare bones. Reminds me of Insurgency. 2 years from now it might be a legit contender.

I don't really get the comparison. Insurgency is close quarters combat while this is definitely a lot bigger.

Totally different engine as well. Maybe I'm missing something you are seeing.

Its the style, its a cross of hyper realism like ARMA + gamey-ness of COD/Battlefield + competitive PvP like Insurgency. Basically like insurgency its for people who dislike COD because its so arcade and same guys who couldn't get into ARMA because its to complicated for them. Insurgency met that core of gamers perfectly and Squad will do the same.

Finally picked this up and its AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any of you PC shooter guys, get this ASAP if you liked Battlefield but also enjoy the ARMA style. Its super easy to pick up and play but also very realistic.

I have it. I've always played alone. And when I play games alone I tend to lose a little patience, so I always tried to be a flanking hero. It didn't work a lot. I still had fun.
