    Re: Salt and Sanctuary

Been looking forward to this game for about two years or so. It's basically 2D Souls type game. Only negative is that it's rumored to be coming out next Tuesday, March 15th which is bad for me. Positive though is that since I have my own personal $10 limit on PSN/Indie games, I know that it will be a while until it goes on sale so in the end, positive/negative.

I saw some pics on the store and thought it looked interesting. The videos are nice as well. I may have to check this one out.

Ghosts and Goblins 2016 reboot, may be worth a look, loved that game as a kid.

          Anyone pick this up?

Edit. Well I will tonight. Thoughts to follow.

Having a great time with this one.

Reminds me of Metroid or Castlevania from the NES days with some of the difficulty.

I understand it's supposed to be a 2D Dark Souls but I never played it.

This game is awesome, especially if you consider that only two people made it. Totally souls-like in terms of depth, items, weapons etc. It even has menu sounds like Dark Souls 1. This will definitely carry me over until DS3 comes out.

It's totally worth every penny if you're a fan of the FROMSOFTWARE games.

I've been having a blast with S&S, probably the most fun I've had with a non-sports video game since, well... Dark Souls. It plays like a perfect blend of Souls and Symphony of the Night, two of my all-time favorites. The art direction and soundtrack are great as well.

Very anxious to pick this up down the road. Prob in another month or two. Too much time spent with Division right now but this is def a must-buy for me at some point. Looks great.

It's definitely a throwback and there's something to it being a 2D game with today's look.

I hate but love dying and having to complete a section all over again like in the past.

I've learned there's a lot I've taken for granted with gaming today.

That's how I've felt playing Broforce, which is another badass throwback. Very hard on later levels and requires quite a bit of replay and trial and error. Good stuff.

Got about an hour in with this and I love it so far. Got past the first boss and unlocked the next section. If definitely borrows heavy from Dark Souls/Bloodborne.

Does this game require backtracking or do you just move forward. I ask because I dislike developers that use backtracking as a way to lengthen a game.

It's a Souls-like game. It's more rinse and repeat than backtracking. You're going to die constantly and have to repeat sections multiple times until you finally get through.

I find that I like S&S much more than the FromSoftware games.
