Do you use video games as a learning tool?

My apologies if there is a better spot for this thread. Just curious if any of you use video games as not only a form of entertainment but also a learning tool? For example I know a lot about my Chicago Cubs but very little about the home town San Diego Padres. I often use sports games like MLB the Show and Madden to learn about teams I know little about. Thoughts on this topic?

Have often thought Madden might teach me a thing or three about the NFL but never got around to testing that theory.

I believe there tutorials are designed to do just that. Learned a few plays and more about formations from that. Pretty cool aspect of the game.

Euro/American Truck Simulator has taught me how to properly park a trailer.

Age of Empires taught me quite a bit about history and really piqued my interest in it.

Video games basically taught me how to read.

Kind of weird, but me and my brother played video games from a fairly young age. We ended up getting a GameCube and my mom would play Legend of Zelda and we would watch. She'd read the dialogue because you had to read it to understand the game. And I pretty much was able to read before I even started school.

I know people who have used Minecraft to learn basic (and advanced) computer engineering.

One can use plain blocks, redstone, redstone torches, and redstone repeaters (all in-game items) to build simple logical gates (AND gates, OR gates, NOT gates). People have built some really impressive stuff with these (the three building blocks of any computer chip or processor), ranging from in-game calculators, a working GPU, even Minecraft running within Minecraft.
