Re: Titanfall 2
Yeah, it's not going over well. I'm downloading it now, but it sounds like they made Titanfall 2 follow the generic shooter recipe.
- no AI in most modes
- no burn cards. Killstreaks
- titans get called in by streaks, not a timer.
- over the top aim assist
- poor map design
I'm going to try it out in a bit, but this is disappointing. With COD and BF coming out around the same time, I'm not sure the world needs a generic Titanfall at the same time.Comment

Re: Titanfall 2
Wow, thats disappointing!
I thought TF had great MP, I figured they were just adding SP campaign and making the MP already in place better.
Titans getting called in by streaks, not timers, is a big turnoff for me. I liked the burn cards too...."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Titanfall 2
Im really liking TF2 also but I only have room for one online shooter in my life and that will be BF1. Ill probably pick TF2 up down the line on a big discount for the campaign mode.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Titanfall 2
Yeah, I'm disappointed. It's a decent shooter, but it's missing a lot of the Titanfall charm. This is a new Titanfall game that got jealous of Call of Duty and decided to do what the cool kids were doing.
The map design is much worse. It's almost like they've included wall running in the game to keep people happy but designed the maps around walking on the ground.
Also, what is with the ridiculous glow around enemy players?
Did the Respawn team hang out with COD youtubers for the past two years?
I don't know about everyone else, but I just wanted more content and stuff from the original Titanfall. Core gameplay was great. There just wasn't a lot there to keep you going.Last edited by sbauer318; 08-19-2016, 09:53 PM.Comment

Re: Titanfall 2
Respawn needs to go back to the Titanfall 1 timer for getting your Titan. Right now it feels like over half the match is just CoD, since no one gets a Titan until a few minutes in. The Titan's also feel much weaker now which doesn't make sense at all. If you are going to make them harder to obtain then they shouldn't go down so easily.
The Bounty mode also plays worse than Attrition. It encourages more camping than using your movement which is what Titanfall should be about, not standing in a corner shooting at waves of AI. Also agree that the maps feel worse. The middle of both maps are just open fields with little verticality, so you can't use wall runs to maneuver.
The time to kill seems lower also, but I'm not sure. The guns have little recoil also so it turns into a CoD style whoever sees the other person first wins and not actually who's better at shooting. I think the game needs a side dash to give you a chance to win a gunfight if the other guy gets the drop on you first.
Just not really feeling it but that may be because game like Overwatch, Siege, and Halo 5 have raised the multiplayer FPS bar. The CoD formula of quick time to kill/low skill shooting and progession based unlocks feels stale in comparison to those 3 games. Hopefully BF1 catches my interest though. If not Overwatch has the legs to keep me playing for the next year.
I do wonder how this game will do though. Seems like EA is sending it out to die sandwiching the week in between BF1 and CoD. Why not push it until February where there's less competition in the FPS market.Last edited by Sandman42; 08-20-2016, 01:39 PM.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Titanfall 2
Available to download right now from the European and North American PlayStation Stores, the open multiplayer beta will run all weekend, and will include two maps and modes for you to try. It'll then restart on 26th August with some additional content for you to sample.
Remember, this is totally free – you don't have to pre-order or sign up to some ****e website to get access. Even better, you don't even need a PlayStation Plus membership to play online.

Re: Titanfall 2
Played for a little bit last night and yeah, it kinda killed my hype a bit. Not a fan of removing the timer countdown for getting your titan. Everything does indeed seem much quieter and less hectic, whereas the first TF felt like a chaotic battle on every map. Still fun but not quite what I was hoping for so far. Hopefully Respawn is truly listening to feedback.Comment
