when's this bad boy coming out for Xbox anyway? Although I'm still working on GTA 3, so I guess I've got time before I need a new GTA game.

The state of San Andreas consists of 3 major cities; Los Angeles (Los Santos), San Francisco (San Fierro), Las Vegas (Las Venturra); each one is the size of Vice City.

There are ridable bicycles, and you can do some tricks. Bicycles will move forward when the X button is held down, but tapping it will make the player travel faster.

You can ride as a passenger and also do a drive-by shooting from passenger seats.

Police can chase you on motorcycles now.

Law Enforcement will be more persistant. They will even hold onto your car when chasing after you. You can blast him off with your gun.

There will be some countryside setting... actually, a LOT.

          Linerunners will have trailers.

          You can dual-wield weapons now.

You can drive an agricultural seeder and other farm vehicles.

Overhauled graphics engine means crisper quality, realistic shadowing and reflections, and independent day- and night-time models. Models will include up to 50% more polygons than Vice City.

Tons of fully-rendered interiors, with little loading time only (some will have none).

Eating, though not required to live, will affect your physique and will be necessary for stamina. You must eat to stay healthy and maintain stamina. Being thin will help in some ways while other things might require you to be fat. You can buff up!

Restaraunts; Different types that will effect your body and weight differently. In other words Junk food all the time will make you fat.

You know you can eat already! But did you know that eating too much will make you fat? Some missions are more difficult or possibly not doable if you are fat. Also, if you don't eat for long periods of time you will get skinny and weak. When CJ is "hungry" a message will be flashed on the screen.

You can go to the gym and get fit.

When overweight, you will waddle like a Penguin, become slow, sluggish and out of breath quickly. You will also throw up your food. Reactions will also be proportionally slower.

Fully operational casinos. You can build, own and manage your own casino.

The city directly affects your characters progression, abilities, and even appearance.

Increased AI and NPC recording sessions, over 500 hours of dialogue in the whole game.

Missions will adjust to suit your skill level so everyone can progress the story. In other words if you become stuck on a mission, the game will slightly adjust to accomodate you so you can advance the storyline.

Four-person drive-by's are also included. During a four-person drive-by, each character can have an independent target, and a car health meter is displayed on screen to show the damage which has been inflicted on the car.

Your actions while not on missions reflect your position in the storyline.

You now have the ability to rob houses, they are known as "House burgulary", and is reported to actually be an R3 mission. It's tougher than it sounds, though.

          Improved Manhunt-like targeting system.

          New melee combat animations.

          Ability to swim.

New weapons, more variety, revamped old weapons.

          Improved car handling.

More modes of transportation (trains, trolleys, bikes, ATVs, more planes, swimming, and just good ol' fashion cars and motorcycles).

A desert is included in Las Venturras, yet isn't just wasted space. Rockstar made a comment about "Deliverence" the movie!

Training will increase Stamina, Fitness, Body-type, driving ability, fighting, etc. There are different consequences for working out/not working out. And not just the obvious ones like getting fat getting you ridiculed and losing stamina. Lifting will bulk you up and make you stronger but also SLOW you down!

Carl can attack enemies from behind, after hiding and sneaking through the shadows (think Splinter Cell and their "stealthy" approach).

Carl can roll to the side during combat on the press of a button.

Players can now pivot the camera around the car, in order to gain a better view.

A choice of haircuts are available, from shaven/bald heads to 'Afro' style cuts, Jheri Curls and Corn Rows. Not only can players choose new hairstyles, but choices of beards and other facial hair will be at their disposal. On sitting down in Reece's barber shop, players can scroll through a list of haircuts, previewing each one. Some cost up to $500 to apply to the character.

Streets will glow orange due to the harsh sunlight. I say this, because I'm referring to how all textured outdoor things in the game will change due to the weather and time of day. Very impressive.

Achievements made during a mission will affect what leisure options are available to CJ.

Draw distances are confirmed as being 2x higher than Vice City in the urban areas and 4x higher in the rural areas.

Streets are now much more full, with the feeling of 'emptiness' from Vice City now completely gone. There will be an endless stream of other cars for CJ to steal.

The legendary mountain has been named as Mount Chiliad, and is over half a mile tall. It takes WELL over a minute to reach the summit in a helicopter, and said to be a half-hour ride up to the top on a BMX bike.

Mobile Hot Dog Vans will be present, but as yet no missions involving sales are confirmed. We can always hope.

The police helicopter will include a spotlight which can be shot out. At random times, police helis will fly through the skies of Los Santos, just searchin for a crime to bust out on.

A 4x4 vehicle (four wheel drive) will be incorporated in the rural areas, allowing players to traverse the bumpy terrain with ease. A monster truck is a prime example.

It is possible to attach and detach the trailer on the back of large trucks

You can purchase Tatoo's for CJ.

Vehicles will get dirty and rusty.

          Car washes are confirmed.

          You can climb fences.

Interiors will be more interactive, not just "Save Points"

Countryside will have farms, rolling fields, rivers, forests, deserts, hills and tumbleweeds

San Andreas will have as many as 16,000 Unique textures and buildings

Los Santos has a bright and gritty feel, the weather is hot and has occasional bursts of rain. San Fierro will be foggy. Las Venturras will be bright with harsh lights reminiscent of the Vegas Strip.

In Vinewood you have landmarks such as Cathay Theatre, the Walk of Fame and the Vinewood sign.

SA wave effects are more realistic and react more accurately to weather as will be evidenced by physics of boats.

Pedestrians will be far more sophisticated and each will have roughly ten minutes of dialogue. Also you might see things like Peds walking hand in hand and will react when you get between them.

Gang member AI far more advanced now. During "down time" they will be gathered together, smoking, drinking, having conversations, greeting each other and just chilling.

Just like CJ, NPC's will have the ability to swim. Hmm...

Gang tactics to get you out of their territory will be more sophisticated. Sometimes attacking you full force and sometimes waiting for you to get deep into their area before ambushing you. Gang members will incorporate much more varied tactics like complex strategies to catch you by surprise and lure you into a trap. Also, each gang has its own unique styles

You can hire your gang members to help you with your dirty work.

Radial lighting is being used for more realistic shadowing effects. Just as well, real Time refections will be used on mirrors, windows and cars. Soft Shadow lighting will be used in interior locations. Not one building is alike in the game.

Missions will allow your character to "learn" new skills as you progress, where the basic tutorials are used in the game's first missions.

The only loading times in San Andreas will be entering buildings... that's right, no more do you have to wait for a little bit going from city to city. That's another way it's a state, all programmed as one.

Impact Animations (Ragdoll Physics) are confirmed.

CJ and his gang will be able to take over parts of the map, like "RISK". You will need to maintain your own home turf though. If you don't, it can get swamped.

You can customize CJ's skills like Driving, fighting, clothes, possessions, weapons skills, character, relationships and your gang

Distant objects will have far less "pop ups". This is because distant objects will be drawn as one, even though separate, and will be drawn independently only when you get closer.

The storyline in San Andreas will be roughly three times as long as Vice City

There is an intricate freeway system in Los Santos similar to that of Los Angeles and is somewhat represented in a screenshot showing part of the Freeway. That's not the only freeway, though... this game is FULL of freeways (two maps on bottom).

Among the various flyable vehicles you will have a Full Winged Dodo which you may remember from GTA III was NOT a vehicle you could fly. Unfortunately, those that loved the challenge of the GTA III Dodo may not be able to get it in this game, as it hasn't been confirmed yet.

The rural areas supposedly takes about 15 minutes to cross by car

The transition from City to Countryside and back again is very gradual, creating more realism in the envireonment so it isn't like an unrealistic, sudden change. Like, it won't be sunny in one spot, and all of the sudden rainy. Also, it won't be just totally city, and then cacti all around.

New and improved Police AI, where there will now be high speed pursuits for AI.

People (peds) will act according to their social status. So a group of gang members will act differently than say a Farmer. This will cut down on the "Ped repetition" of III and Vice City. The peds will show a much wider variety of behavior patterns than ever before in GTA games, not to mention a much improved AI.

There are two maps below... a projected final map (with Las Venturras included, it is in white so people can see it easier... top left still an undecided part of San Fierro), and a drawn out map, much bigger so that you can see all of the blocks and freeway thickness better.

Projected final map of San Andreas (that which is confirmed is in yellow, and the projected Las Venturras is in white)

Also confirmed map of SA, but drawn out

^^ Holy crap, have some info!

Anyways, i'll definitely be picking it up when it comes out. I'll have to try and split time between SA and Smackdown vs. RAW when that comes out a week later as well. Can't wait for either

I put over 100 hours in GTA 3 and over 150 into Vice City, and i can't wait for this thing to come out. I can't believe the city is going to be 5 times bigger than Vice City with no outside loading times! That is simply unbelievable!
