I'd say within a certain distance it's reasonable. The problem is there are so many snipers just camping, waiting to 1 shot you.

Earlier in this thread someone mentioned an idea of capping the amount of snipers a team can have. I am starting to support that idea pretty strongly.

Check your facts bro. Theres numerous snipers that kill in 1 shot depending on the distance. I think its between 80 and 120 meters

which ones? I'm using the Russian 1895 sniper and have used others that all say 100 damage and 100 accuracy - and they only 1 shot kill with a headshot. I was playing as a scout on the forrest map with the bunkers and for a few minutes was laying prone shooting from a bunker with a clear path in front where enemies rush down the trench and come right at me. Some died, presumably because they'd already taken some damage and so didn't.

I think snipers do a maximum of 85 damage to the chest and a minimum of 50 to the lower legs or whatever ... not exact, but I think that's close - the head does 100 damage regardless of range and I think that's good. I can hit people even on the move clear across the map, but very extreme rare cases I headshot them unless they are not moving at all and I get a few shots at it. I really like sniping in this game because hitting people on the move especially horse riders is challenging but seems like an intuitive lead you need to take - like it's semi-realistic.

From what I can tell, I haven't 1-shot anyone who had full health anywwhere but the head with any gun.

Every sniper has a specified range where they can 1 shot to the chest. There's a little damage chart displayed when you go to change your weapons.

I've been running scout lately just running from flag to flag with the SMLE and spot flares. I've taken many guys out with 1 shot. The distance between each objective is similar to the 1 shot range of the SMLE

There is a shotgun I was using with assault that seemed geared for higher range at expense of reload and I almost felt like a troll with it. I forgot the name.

Always fun and a Battlefield classic when half your team wants to lay on their belly in the mountains while not caring a single bit about the objective

How that's fun is beyond me. I don't care if they actually wanna help out but other that it's just a pure innocence

Great post.

When I play domination and my team loses 100-4 or something like that I always know that is going to happen as soon as I see 5 guys or more clustered together in a sniper nest. Give me a break.

ah! well there it is, I stand corrected and it's because I was too close it seems.

This was a great vid, and will make me switch the the gwver lol ...

One thing the video didn't touch on is the magnification options. I like long range, and the russian sniper has it, but as the video showed has slower bullet velocity and damage sweet spot is closer - BUT you have the option of 10x magnification, I know the last rifle he mentioned as being best for extreme distances, but I believe it only has 4x mag. SO for me I'll have to check out hte rifle I mentioned and hope it has at least 8x... for me if you can't zoom in that much, then I wouldn't be looking at bigger ranges, thus negating the purpose of the rifle and might as well use the medic class.

So even with those damage sweet spots for the upper torso, I still don't mind the way it's setup. I don't die from snipers that often and usually know where they are - I get hit a lot, but don't usually die.

With that being said it's the last class I have to get level 10 so I'm using the class lol. Only thing is I'm not sitting around I try to push up with my team. After this I doubt I'll use the class again

Sniping seems pretty darn easy in this game

No.

There are suppressor labeled weapons but they mean as in ammo count to suppress the enemy. Ie 200 round mag.

I think I'm almost 50 or so, and we ran into a 90+ guy last night but we wrecked him.

Always remember guys, lvl mainly = time played and doesn't necessarily translate to skill. ....

I am living proof. I have logged a ton of hours in BF games for years now, and I think I'm actually regressing.
