i was hoping that they was would start adding a 3rd person option to all there games like Star Wars. Give ppl who don't like 1st person view a option and let them enjoy battlefield 1 in 3rd person mode gameplay like the tanks.

If this game had 3rd person I would never put it down. I doubt it will get patched in but I really do hope so. Star Wars in 3rd person made that game for me. So much fun.

FPS = First Person Shooter

It makes absolutely no sense to make this 3rd person.

Thank goodness there's no third person in BF1 for ground troops. Leave that for the Sci Fi star wars battlefront series.

Is there a list of guys that play this together? I'm on PS4, and I'm a good player, but I get sick of playing this game with randoms that don't listen or play the objective or give commands. I only play with one buddy, and we were looking to start playing with more people.

Just personal preference, but I like 3rd person much better. I will probably pass on this. It looks pretty good though, but I still ve a Star Wars expansion coming out in December, I can't see trying to divide time between shooters. Although I really like this time period so I may get it if I see it go on special. The price of Star Wars dropped like a rock almost immediately.

3rd person shooters are just TOTALLY different games. I get the like for them and the preference for them, but if BF ever went 3rd person (which it likely never will) that'd be the last I'd ever play of the series.

I mean, the setting is 'cool' to to speak, but it's just not ideal for a Battlefield multiplayer IMO.

I often forget it's WW1 because of the weapons and so on - because there was no wide-spread use of weapons like these - in fact I kind of think of it as a world war 1.5 game - as if there was a great war in 1930 or something like that.

I like the maps for the most part, but kind of wish it was just straight up ww2. I agree with you the weapons would feel nicer and so on. Overall I'm enjoying it, but it won't have the same staying power as bf4 for example because it's just not as complicated in terms of weapon attachments and so on. No helicopters changes things as well because as a trooper on the ground I'm not really worried about planes ever.

I wonder if they do a full WW2 add-on to this because it seems really doable ...

for me the ultimate would be NAM era weapons, but in environments like BF1/4 ... one jungle map is ok, but all the buildings and variety is so much better. I doubt they'd even consider a war 'mash-up' like that though - but I'd be down. Could have a classic rock soundrack too. lol ... /massive tangent

I can see why some people are dropping the game - it's hard to succeed with the older style gear and vast amounts of necessary teamwork. But when you win and play well it is quite gratifying.

This is a very accurate description of game right now. It is probably the hardest BF game so far to succeed in. Just going positive can be challenging at times if the rest of your team is not trying to acquire objectives. As mentioned above the key to success in this game is to play in a squad that communicates and tries to acquire objectives.

I play quite a bit. K/D ratio not so hot, but always play the mission and resupply or heal like a mad man. Add me if you'd like, I am looking for good, dependable squad mates.

Although I understand that this is your preference, Battlefield series is successful mainly because they are first person shooters and have been around way before console players were able to experience anything like it. Battlefield 2 is one of the most successful games out of the series and that was considered the next best thing or even better than counterstrike at the time. Although Counterstrike is considered the father of first person shooters, Battlefield games for the first time allowed players to experience a higher level of complexity in a battlefield setting than counterstrike provided. That essentially is why Battlefield games are now a lot more popular than a pure FPS shooter like Counterstrike.

I think everyone in here who said no is being narrow minded. You guys are putting to much effort in telling ppl no when all you have to do is make a official EA server for 3rd person mode. There's already tons of wasted empty servers.

I am always for as many options as possible. If 3rd person can be added in so other people can play and enjoy the game I am all for it.
