Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)
I know snipers aren't liked too much around here :-) but does anyone else snipe? Checking my stuff out on Battlefield Tracker, my longest headshot is 351m - anyone on here get something further and what map were you on? I don't know how to see whats the furthest one at the moment so figured I'd ask.
Edit: Nevermind I found my info - 1103 meters ... goodnessLast edited by JerzeyReign; 11-18-2016, 06:22 PM.#WashedGamerComment

If I spot another sniper just laying prone somewhere, I'll usually spot him with the scope, take him out, then go back to spotting everyone else. I'm not remotely good enough at sniping to counter some of the people that just camp the back of the map the whole game.Comment

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)
Yeah, pretty much. If I go to the scout class its mostly to counter snipe the guys that are far enough away I can't flank them. Shocking the number of snipers that don't really move from their spot if they are not just camping the back of the map.Moderator

Little did he know I went 19-12, capped 5 objectives and defended 7. We won and I placed 5th overall score.
That tower is only 150m from c objective and about 210 from d with great sight lines. I probably could have got a few more kills without him doing that as I was cleaning house up there with prob 9 kills in 5 min.
I'll play my game how I want - to hell with anyone who thinks its wrong to snipe. It's a freaking War game! Lol.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)
I never really snipe. Not really very good at it in any game honestly. Not sure if it's just because I don't take enough time doing it to get better at it or if it's just because it dosen't really fit my play style. I do think I like to be up closer to the battle. It's pretty much always Medic or Assualt for me. Trying to play Assualt a lot now to level the class up. Happy with what I have for the Medic class right now so focusing on getting the Assualt class up a bit. Most of the time I play Rush. It's frustrating when you have bad teammates who won't concentrate on defending the objective though. So many times I spawn on a squad member or members to get their quicker when the bombs set and getting ready blow up one of the objectives and the person isn't trying to go for it and disarm it. Not talking about people who are sniping on the objective point either. Well that pretty much goes for every mode I geuss.Last edited by Rocket32; 11-19-2016, 11:00 AM.Comment

Good link about how to be a good teammate and work as a squad.
I'm dying to play with guys who play as a squad. I've had ZERO luck playing with OSers. I love this game and just dying to play with a team that plays the game correctly. The way it's designed.

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)
Me, Rez, and a few others tried out Hardcore CQL this morning/afternoon and I must say we weren't impressed. It left much to be desired.
Now before all the hardcore defenders come at me lol. I will say that is merely my opinion and nothing more. I can see how hardcore could appeal to some players, it just isn't for me or my style.
I like to constantly push objectives aggressively and that wasn't conducive to hardcore. Many opponents lying far off objectives in obscure spots sniping. Which I get, it is hardcore after all. Problem is in normal mode I see where they are and if they don't change positions if allows me to return and take their tags or kill em' outright.
Actually more than that issue what bothered us more was that it felt so disconnected. Getting team killed by noob teammates is always pleasant.
I find hit markers and kill notifications gratifying and you don't get either in hardcore. Again, I get people like that and I'm sure someone's going to come in here and say just that. It just isn't for me.
The pace of war feels much more realistic in hardcore, I'll give it that. There isn't crazy constant explosions & weapon fire like there is in normal mode.
Ultimately I'll just say it feels too disconnected & cheap for my tastes. But I'm def glad they added the option for those of you who prefer it.
Enjoy.Comment

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)
Feeling disconnected is what bothers me. There is no kill feed either. At one point I thought I had no kills and had already died multiple times. I looked up the score and surprisingly I had 10 kills, yet I had no idea that I got those kills. If you don't know that you are doing well even if you actually are what is even the point. In the end it's all about the experience and in my humble opinion that first person shooter experience is significantly toned down in hardcore. And this is coming from someone that has been playing shooters since the glory days of counterstrike.
I personally used to love hardcore but its super slow. I'm just addicted to Operations. Also, for the second push in the forest on Conquer Hell (in the forest) - they moved the flags for the second attack/defense. Or maybe it was just this server but where they had them made for a better game. Instead of the second push being right next to the derailed trains, it was further up closer to the spawn.#WashedGamerComment

Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)
Yea the DICE Official Hardcore servers are meh...it's almost like they created HC and the settings just to say "here it is".
The custom HC servers are much better. Kill log (so you know you've got the kill), access to your mini map etc. I feel you guys with the disconnected feel.
The bullet damage over what it is in standard is the most important aspect to ME, personally (not saying it's better for everyone). It's just so much more gratifying and rewarding and genuine-feeling. And I'll die gracefully every time, being one-shot every time if it's because the enemy had the drop on me and made the shot. I say that to stress it's not about "getting more kills", because works both ways, you die easier too.
The gunplay in this game has been REALLY good out of the box and what it becomes in HC makes it great (again just my opinion). It feels like it's the way the game is meant to be played. This is coming from playing a ton of Insurgency and Rising Storm (as well as BF since 1942), so I may be biased towards the unforgiving nature of those games.
The snipers and TK'ers are an issue...kind of sucks and you almost have to just "deal" with the snipers and adjust. But again, as more custom servers roll out we'll see class caps and way more punishing servers including bans. It will get better.
