Well, for one, I said, "I kid" with a giant smiley indicating I'm kidding and don't mean anything by that...

And two, if I were a mind reader and knew for a fact your grandparents did in fact die on 9-11, I hardly think I'd joke like that. However, I do not know you, nor omniscient.

I cannot wait for next week. Has anyone seen info on how long the beta will last? Hard to believe were less than 2 months away.

Wait, what? I missed this...beta is next week? I know I signed up and said I want XB1 beta key, but wasn't aware of dates.

That link isn't working, but if you Google "bf1 beta" its the first hit.

Do you just need to be a BF Insider? I followed the link and signed up for that. All I could see to do.

The open beta is available to everybody. The BF insiders get it a day early on the 30th. You had to sign up before the 21st to have insider access.

Anyone know when they are sending out the codes for those who signed up?

They haven't given a definitive date. All they keep saying is keep an eye on your email for a code. If I had to guess, I'd say they should start rolling out today or tomorrow.

I loved COD games...MW2, BO & BO2...really fun games and enjoyed them a lot but they still will likely never compare to BF1, even with nostalgia. Even if I had to choose them over BF4, I'd pick BF4. There is so much more tactics, strategy, ability to OWN your killstreaks...

I used to play COD a ton and a buddy at work told me to at least try BF4; I watched a bunch of videos and decided it was worth a shot and it easily was my most played game the past two years.

Don't miss out, my friend...granted BF is a bit more slower paced than COD but I think the fun factor, replayability and those "WOW!!" moments are far more than COD can provide.

Note: Don't want to turn this into a COD vs. BF war...more so pointing out my experiences and the point to not exclude BF1 because it's not a modern military shooter.

I think this is one game where I don't mind paying for SP because I know I will get more than moneys worth playing this game.

I have tried my best to learn from the masters (Boltman and Rez) and hope to not slow them down when we try to take over the world once this game releases.

The only thing I don't like about SP is that it will split up the player base.

                          True.

Playing BF Hardline in preparation for this game, we definitely ran into this as I only have vanilla Hardline and Bolt and his crew all have the extra maps.

I don't really follow the Battlefield series but I did enjoy the Bad Company game back in PS3 days. Anyways, I was browsing these Non-Sports Gaming threads and wondered why this particular thread had so much activity. I thought it was just an older Battlefield game that had quite a following. I had no idea this was actually a new title coming up.

I read that they named it Battlefield 1 because it takes place in WW1 but still think it was a very poor choice in naming. If I hadn't opened up this thread I probably would have never known it was a new title.

With that said, I viewed some videos and Battlefield 1 looks absolutely stunning.

Nope, we won't get one until tomorrow. Kinda annoyed to be honest. It'd be nice to pre-download before it goes live.

I love Battlefield games. Bad Company, BF 3 and 4 plus my favorite battlefield game ever is HARDLINE which I'm almost Top Ranked. Just need to grind out a few more games and I will reach max prestige.

I just really don't like WW1 and 2 shooters or games that just have that old war vibe. That's why I love Cod 4 so much. That game just has that post 9/11 feel to it. The war on terror and Bin Laden. That's why I like it. MW2 is close second.
