It hasn't really been modern in years. How is it any different than the last two futuristic COD releases, though? It looks very similar to me. Maybe more futuristic streaks but outside of that, looks pretty close.

I didn't watch the SP trailer though.

For me because it's Infinity Ward. Advanced Warfare was a mess and I'm not a fan of the Black Ops story flow.

        that's probably the difference then.

I focus mainly on MP. I've completed the campaigns but it's not really why I buy the games. Based on that, for me, IW hasn't put out a great MP experience since MW2. In terms of MP, they're definitely the B team for me.

Infinity Ward definitely does the best job tho, I'll give you that when it comes to CoD releases.

No it's not. That's how it's been recently. All future. No real life guns. Futuristic. Jumping around, jet packs...it's all silly. It's fine if you subjectively like that, not knocking you, but the overall consensus is that people are tired of the direction towards all futuristic, and no more modern. When was the last real modern CoD? Been awhile, so to say it's a nice change of pace, means little considering the last how many CoD releases have all been the same.

And just because it's #1 means little. I'm sure McDonalds is #1 burger seller in the world, but their burgers suck compared to others you can buy. People buy CoD still cause they know their friends do, and it's fun and easy to play as a group. Plus their name recognition. Still, it's gone down hill.

Infinity Ward definitely does the best job in terms of CoD, I''ll agree with you there.

If you posted this 10 years ago I'd probably agree with you, but they have fallen off. I'd say most players now don't believe IW is the top studio.

Well. Glad I don't care what other people think then and just enjoy games that I enjoy

Isn't that the point of playing a game...to have fun? I've enjoyed the footage I've seen. Even watched so of the live stream yesterday. I'll be buying this day one for sure.

The loud vocal minority like to pretend they are the majority in their echo chamber.

I like what I seen too. It looks like a blast.

lol whatever man...take a look at the likes and dislikes to this video. Not to mention all the negative comments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irIkbTen53k

That's not normal for CoD to have a nearly 50:50 ratio of that nature. It's not some small minority that agrees with my assessment of the game. Not begrudging people for liking it, I was only saying the opinion I hold of the game so far is pretty common with CoD these days with a lot of people.

I'm excited for CoD4, but IW look's to be way too sci-fi, and CoD has been tranding that way unfortunately.

Of course that's the point, and that's why it sells. I mean, despite my disgust with direction, I still have fun time to time with friends, it just rarely lasts with all the most recent cods. I wish it were more fun to me as it used to be.

                        So... what...

What are you trying to convince?

We want to play the game. It looks fun to us. What purpose are you serving other than being disruptive?

Listen, this started way before you chimed in. It basically began when accused me of a bunch of "hyperbole" because I said CoD has gone the way of too much future and a great deal of people aren't into that anymore and it's getting poor reviews from gamers.

It's not being disruptive. Accusing people of living in an "echo chamber" (which isn't true, considering how many share my thoughts) is disruptive. In fact, I have said the game is still fun, yet boring to a degree because of the way they have developed recently. The way you posted was a subtle jab.

So, all I have been saying, was that my original post isn't hyperbole, but is a shared sentiment among many. Again, I don't begrudge anyone for liking the game. I myself still have fun with friends, but it's gotten too repetitive with all the future stuff.

I'm not going to argue about this. I'm excited for the game. Probably my most anticipated game of the fall. It isn't for others and that's okay too. Going to be a great fall of games either way.

Gamers are never happy. I remember when it was cool to say WW2 was repetitive.

That's because they were (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...II_video_games). It's not like they're complaining about something that doesn't hold any weight. There have been way more modern and futuristic games than WW2 era games recently. EA and DICE obviously got the message.
