Last year’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse is getting a sequel. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will arrive this year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, publisher Bandai Namco said today.

Bandai says we’ll see more from the new DBZ game at E3 in June. Here’s the full press release:

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (May 17, 2016) – BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. the premier publisher of anime videogames today announces DRAGON BALL® XENOVERSE 2, the most expansive Dragon Ball® videogame experience to-date. DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 is currently in development at famed Osaka, Japan based videogame developer DIMPS and will be available for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and STEAM® for PC. DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 is scheduled to launch in the Americas in 2016.

Developed to fully utilize the power of current generation gaming consoles and PCs; DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 builds upon the highly popular DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE with enhanced graphics that will further immerse players into the largest and most detailed Dragon Ball world ever developed. DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 will deliver a new hub city and the most character customization choices to date among a multitude of new features and special upgrades. Additional details and features pertaining to DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 will be revealed at E3 2016 (June 14-16) in BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc.’s demo theaters, located in rooms 303A&B in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Yeah I really liked the first game, was a refreshing spin on the dragonball story and the element of adding custom characters made it a great experience. Been waiting for a sequel to this game.

Very fun game. And I liked how they did the story, with the changing of history. Definitely a fun game. I hadn't played one since Budokai. And the custom characters was cool but I would also like the option to run through the story as the characters that were your partners. And I would be fine with not getting the help if that's what would have to come with it.

I enjoyed the first one a lot, but I won't be so quick to pay $60 for another one so soon... I'll get it down the road.

Now I'm regretting deleting my data. Oh well just going to start over once the game comes out. Hope they add a few new races and change the Majin buu male. I loved the first Xenoverse and played it for hours just never really played any online battles. Planning on changing that when this comes out. Still never going to forget I flawless a friend while using Videl. One of the best moments I had.

If only One Piece or HxH could get a game like this.

I'm not usually one to be so negative, but this just looks like some DLC to me.

I don't see much, if any difference between the gameplay vs the first Xenoverse.

I noticed a bit of differences for one hit detection seems better, game moves much smoother.They have more fighting mechanics to the game that keeps players from being able to run from there opponent without the worry of being hit. Looks like you can link combos together much better, no invincible frame that prevents players from being hit when they are smacked to the ground. But much like most games that are sequels and released on a yearly basis you don't see glaring improvement out the gates until you play the game. It does look similar though but after playing Xenoverse so much I noticed a bit of changes

Has anyone played the closed beta yet? I loved the first one and I'm thinking of getting this one, just waiting for the open beta to come out before I decide to buy it.

Loving the beta for Xenoverse 2 so far. The gameplay is much smoother than the first. The combat is just real fluid, and doesn't feel like how it was in the original.

Really enjoying the Frieza race, their transformation is sick. I really didn't think much of it but the speed you get and the different Ki attacks are nice to have. Could see a striker class doing well for the Frieza race.
