    Re: God of War 4

I love me some God of war, but not too hot on a kid following me around throwing a hissy fit. The girl from God of War 2 was bad enough, lol.

I'll probably pick it up. Hope it's better than Ascension. Gonna be weird without chains.

I noticed the gates in the videos opened pretty fast, so hopefully not so much mashing x.

I can't wait to play this. The release date will give me time to clear out my new PS4 backlog.

Looks like its a 4/20 release date.
That trailer was EPIC! Hype level is now increasing.

And I called the date from Cory's 'hint' on Twitter, lol.

I won't be getting this until it's cheaper, but I'm definitely looking forward to impressions and screenshots.

                - He says that he wasn't necessarily say that Kratos was solely cast as a villain the in Greek-era, but he's definitely not a great guy.

                - The last story trailer didn't really give much away despite what some may fear. Cory says that he's a big fan of keeping everything close to their vest and allowing gamers to experience it on their own.

                - When asked how he's going to prevent a 25-30h game from being repetitive he says "By not making it repetitive". He goes on to say that they didn't set out to make a game that long, it just sorta happened by accident. So he feels that everything in there just helps enrich the experience.

                - Reiterates that the world is very big and ripe for exploring. And much larger than the previous entries.

                - Optional Bosses? Yes

                - Upgrading Health? Yes (although it's handled differently compared to the previous games)

                - Behind the Scenes footage? They haven't confirmed or denied it. But Cory says that he loved doing them in the past. "Take from that what you will."

                - Number of people from past GoW's working on this. "Rough count" 20-40 people

                - Cory used this sequence from Hard Boiled to sell people on the single shot idea

                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4OPyoJgV_YY" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                - He feels the story here sets up for a much bigger arc. Which will be Chapter 2 for Kratos

                - He's asked if he'll return for directing another GoW and says that he's a fan of letting a fresh set of eyes look at the world. But he isn't going anywhere. He'll still be there working on some great stuff.

I'm still not exactly excited about the new over the shoulder perspective, at least from a God of War game. But that video definitely eased me into believing this will still be very fun.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Perfect movement; no cuts; no errors, not even a single load screen. Could be a legendary story. Dori Arazi, God of War Director of Cinematography, opens the lens on achieving what was once thought impossible – never taking the players eyes away from the journey.

God of War was the reason I owned a PS3 and now, PS4. No other game can combine scale with action the way this one does. My jaw dropped watching my buddy fight Cronos the first time. I typically wait for games and get them when I have time or catch a great sale. Not this. I'm stoked to see how they push the PS4 and experience that firsthand. Especially now that there seems to be more to the story than just vengeance. Hearing the game is 25 to 30 hours is just icing.

This was one of the main reasons I own a Playstation (PS4 Pro) for the first in my life. Only played a few minutes of one God Of War and this one is looking damn good...can't wait.

Im an Xbox guy through and through but you have to recognize greatness. I've preordered this thing and I never do that. I want it installed as soon as possible. It looks to have the trademark GOW brutality, albeit different. New lore. A more focused story. It visually looks amazing in the videos on my OG PS4. The timing is perfect too as Spiderman will be dropping right as I suspect I'll be done with every nook and cranny of this. Sony is killing it this year! Ill round out the year with Red Dead 2 on the 1X. 2018 is shaping up to be a hell of a year to be a single player gamer.

Dissappointed they chose to use a different voice actor for Kratos. Kratos has had the same VO actor in every single game regardless of console/handheld. This is just not going to feel the same.
