I'm just around 50% through and the story has me engrossed. It's legitimately set up like a summer blockbuster and one set piece in particular is REALLY great.

I think the overall impressions will be skewed by how much you like Spiderman. I haven’t really played that much and I’m having fun but this game hasn’t sucked me in like some others have. I haven’t felt the need to play it a lot. I’m also trying to finish HZD after buying it last month which doesn’t help.

While different games, I immediately fell in love with God of War and Detroit Become Human. Those games are both GOTY candidates imo. So far I would put Spidey in the solid but not special category. Unlocking towers/areas and basic crime stopping side missions are nothing new. The puzzle stuff feels more tedious than other games. I haven’t seen much of the story yet so this could change my opinion.

I am getting frustrated by my R2 web swinging in mid air not always working. Not sure why that is.

I think I have an extra PreOrder Bonus code.


I got one from my Playstation Pro and one from BestBuy.



I entered both codes and the return seems to be the same with the only exception being that the Pro one included the DLC.


I did not redeem the BestBuy code. If it can be confirmed that I do indeed have an extra, I'll give it to someone here.

If you do and no one has gotten it yet and I could I would take it. My preorder of the collectors edition is not supposed to come un till Tuesday because Best Buy messed it up and I have also not gotten a email with preorder code yet from best buy even though I order it back in April. Never mind I just got a code finally after I ended up PM Best buy like 1-2 hours later had issues before that when I had only tried CS chat.

I played for a couple hours Thursday night, played for 13-14 hours yesterday, and and about 7 hours today, and I'm at 81% for the whole game.

I'd say the story is probably right around 20-22 hours.

Yet you couldn't dedicate the same time to the book? [emoji16]

I played a couple hours more and there are times I feel a bit overwhelmed. Not with the combat, though I guess there are moments I wish I could remember every move at my disposal. (should I web this guy to a wall? Quick! Pull up the gadget, oh no, Spidey sense, time to roll. Okay, hold punch, let's do some combos, great need to jump out of the way again, oh snap, I forgot to web someone to a wall and now there's only two guys left, so much for getting that bonus...roll!)

But I'm just looking for a backpack when suddenly the detective is calling me and there's a radio call about illegal activity taking place. I really just need to figure out where this backpack is hiding, sorry citizen you'll have to hold on a sec, and dang it, I wasn't paying attention at all to the detective. Did she say something about going to a dance?

I'm having fun with it. I am so fixated on sliders and accurate stats & gameplay in sports titles, that I just want something to enjoy. I'm running into buildings, dying in fights - and I don't care. I'm having fun. I don't care if it takes me another month to just get 25% into the game - I'm playing it to enjoy, and it's a nice gaming reprieve from the diehard sports sim stuff. This one won't be traded in...

Perhaps the most enjoyable thing is to continually swing on one building round and round until I get to the top...swinging/flying thru the city is incredibly satisfying, I really underestimated it when watching gameplay.

While I don't think that Spider Man should be or will be game of the year, it's an easy contender simply because of the very weak year. For me, it will most likely be a top 5 game for the year out of 12 to 15 games that im most likely going to play but I do have a few negatives for the game.

Since there's stealth in the game, I find it weird that there's no crouch button. The environmental attacks should have been a combination press of R1 and L1 instead of holding them down. At times, it takes too long to pull off the attack. Not a fan that some gadget upgrades are connected to the challenges tokens in which you must complete challenges in combat in order to gain tokens which are then used for upgrading gadgets. It reminds me of Just Cause 3 where you had to complete challenges to gain "gears" and use them to upgrade certain gadgets.

47% overall completion and still a lot of "locked" content on the world map. Kind of wish everything was revealed already because im the type that once the story is done, the game is done.

Despite my few negatives, game is a lot of fun to play. 23 hours in 2 days proves it. LOL. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have played that much in such a short amount of time.



The Best Buy code is via email. I had mine by the time I got home yesterday with the game which was maybe 30 minutes after picking it up.

Thanks Peter. For some reason I never got mine and going on 2 days without it. I called best buy yesterday and they said I should get code emailed to me in next 24-48 hours.

Don't accidentally abandon main story mission by leaving area when you are in that weird reenactment of the explosion Dr. Li takes you to. That even being an option is pretty frustrating.

Also it would be nice if you could skip Mj missions. They are incredibly bad.


Anyone have tips for getting good scores in the silly taskmaster challenges?

Swinging through the city really is just plain fun. Easily the majority of my time in the game has been just swinging around the city.

It's so much fun, that doing stuff like collecting all 55 backpacks, unscrambling all of the towers and photographing every landmark didn't feel even remotely like a chore, because I was having such a blast just swinging around the city and doing mid-air tricks.

Meanwhile, trying to collect all the collectibles in games like GTA, Assassin's Creed and other open world games can feel like such a pain in the *** to do.

Agreed. I will probably 100 percent this and it won’t get boring at all. I rarely do the tedious stuff in other games to 100 percent games.

Im already 30% done and ive been splitting time with 2K. Maybe i should get more side missions done lol.
