Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
LOVED this game - wrapped up the story over the weekend and now going through the side stuff I missed.
Those two extra credit scenes!!
Hyped for the DLC’s and also what’s coming next for Spider-Man 2.
Marvel/Insomniac proved to be a fantastic combination.

Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
Do you have to beat the game on Superior to get the platinum trophy? I beat the game on Amazing finished all the side stuff and have two hidden trophies left.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
I finished the game last night.
Wow. Just wow.
While the credits rolled (almost 30 minutes worth) I kept thinking "This is why I play games." It's that good.
Spider Man is top 5 for me and I don't like superheroes, open word, or combat games. But I love story and set pieces and this game has those in spades.
I finished at 82%. I can't decide if I want to work on the remaining 18% or start another play through.
Highly recommended game.Comment

Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
You can look at the hidden info on each trophy. I had the exact same on Amazing difficulty and after getting them, got the plat trophy.

Thanks, never knew you could see what it took to earn the hidden trophies.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
If I were to play through this again I think I would play the map differently. Rather than letting all the fetch quests pile up on-top of each other I think I will do them as they come. Not only will this keep the map "clean," but to me it makes completely more sense in the flow of the narrative. Is Peter really going to waste time collecting backpacks and snapping pictures of landmarks while Sable is trying to shoot you out of the sky? Plus it'll help break up the monotony of collecting and completing everything.
With that said and despite my earlier criticisms I am starting to warm up to the abundant number of side activities. Overall there are too many and I think the game could have been simplified by cutting out some enemies (ie: Sable) and combining others (perhaps Fisk and the Demons?). With so many nothing really gets room to shine on it's own. There are some genuinely good, intriguing side missions, but they ultimately get lost and forgotten among the heap of map clearing tasks. Still, I've been having fun clearing out these hideouts/outposts/warehouses. Even Taskmaster's timed challenges are beneficial to making you a more efficient Spider-Man. I find the drone challenges particularly beneficial as an advanced training method for betting swinging tactics.
Even though the combat is somewhat shallow and limited overall it is fun. The added challenge of meeting certain objectives adds some variance among all the combat encounters. Last night I spent a good amount of time just seeing how high I could get my combo up (Over 100, I should have the video up tonight).
To those reading through the thread it may seem I'm overly critical of this game but I would without a doubt recommend this game to all. Perhaps I am so critical because I felt like the blueprint for this game-type was already out and firmly established. Judging a game by a direct comparison probably isn't fair considering this is a completely different game with a completely different team of personnel. So while there are certainly missteps they need to be considered along with the fact that this is their first try at something like this. Arkham was used as a template in many ways - for better or for worse - but hopefully in the next game they will begin to carve out a more definite identity rather than being Arkham 2.0.

Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)
I'm sure I have a lot of story left but I'm pretty much done with the entire map.
All I have left are the challenges and some hidden side missions. I guess they are only hidden because I haven't gotten that far in the story. I don't know for sure.
But I've collected every backpack, completed all the Black Cat quests, took every landmark picture (except every hidden landmark picture...trying to figure out if there's a theme there because I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know what warrants completion of that), caught every bird, stopped every street crime, etc.
So now I'm going to jump back into the story and finish that. I honestly truly hate the challenges. I hate that crap. I completed one of the challenges in what I felt was in the fastest time I could every complete it and I still only got bronze. I don't think I'll have enough interest or skill to go for silvers or gold."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

They're all just things around New York. The Statue of Liberty, some skate park under one of the bridges, all the different graffitis, etc.

It helps to get the suit upgrade that puts the Secret Photo Op locations on the map.

And it just occurred to me that some suits might be better suited for some challenges. I have to actually look at what their powers are.

Just as a side note, it doesn't permanently put them on the map. But if you're near one, a camera icon pops up on the map.Boston Red Sox
