Yeah, I hear you. I finished the main story but craved more of this game, so I decided I was going to 100% it. It did not take long for everything to become quite monotonous. I also have a fundamental problem with having to pay for DLC missions. Maybe giving myself a break from the game will allow me to finish it off, but the backlog of games I have, I doubt it will happen.

      Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)

My first play through I saved a lot of the crimes and stuff till after the main mission was finished.

I felt overwhelmed trying to 100% and having 15+ crimes in each district to compete. I ended up just completing them trying different abilities and attack methods and had fun with it.

Even if you don't complete all the crimes now, maybe you will get itch to play as spider-man down the road and maybe will 100% the map later. It's fun at times to just play for a little bit and knock out crimes while swinging around.

        Re: Spider-Man (PS4 Exclusive)

Once you get to Act 3 (final act) the map is awesome. Without spoiling anything there are tons of random criminals running around, more crimes and more bases to take down. You can spend hours just doing that stuff before even getting to the missions. I head to a mission and just end up fighting crime. I wish the map was more like this earlier in the game. The combat is fun and where the game shines, even if it’s a bit too button mashing. At this point I can no longer upgrade gadgets or unlock more suits unless I force myself to do the non combat challenges and I can’t do it.

Collected all of the backpacks, photographed all landmarks, unscrambled all towers and completed the Black Cat side mission. I believe I'm at like 56% completion, so going to focus in on finishing the main story now.

Based on my progress so far (which I don't believe is super far), more side-missions open up based on the main story stuff, which is a good thing.

Many more bases to take down will happen along with more crime in the streets. That is much more desirable than the side mission filler imo. Way more fun and there are lots of main missions in the game. I remember people saying this game was 20 hours at launch. It’s WAY more imo if you do everything. I wish I knew how much time I spent but I will be 40-50 when done.

THIs guide says just over 30 hours for everything but that is low imo.

I'm just glad I'm running into more time-sensitive items. At first there was only one mission with a time-based item, but now there are a few more plus some time-trial challenges (obtaining bronze, silver or gold, etc.).

I can't completely project everything based on not knowing what lies ahead, but I'm sure I'll probably finish around 35 hours played or so. I do a lot of web-slinging around just because, but I don't think I'll be getting 50 hours out of the main story really.

I never really trust things when it says a game is so many hours because there are games where I known it is a lot longer than it is said and games where they say it is a lot longer than it really is. But I would say this game is like a 35-40 hour game to do ever thing and than there is like a extra 8 or so if you have the 3 dlc's to. I didn't do any side missions on my first play threw and just to do story I think took me like 20 hours and than with second play threw I would say most likely around 40 has I did ever thing. So that is like 60 hours and than dlc I have gotten 100% on 1 and 3 but not the 2nd dlc. So I would guess I have put in around 70 hours with this game.

Also just heard the game has now sold 9+ million copies.

Something "Fantastic Four-related" is coming to the game soon.

Hopefully it's not just the Bagman suit.

Every time that I'm repairing circuits in this game, I proudly say to myself:

"Shoot, if it's this easy and fun to do in real life, sign me up and I'll gladly make six figures doing this all day!"

The earlier report that crimes aren’t truly random isn’t true. Even though you may clear out all the crimes in a district some random thug crimes will still happen. At least at the end of the game it does.

It depends on what you call random. I am 58% through the game, and any districts where I have averted five crimes in are now crime-free. Maybe there is an occasional thug or demon that tries to go after me while I'm on the street, but the streets are clear of crimes there otherwise.

As you approach the end of the game, I don't know what happens. Maybe at some point it resets. That doesn't sound as "random" as I'd like it to, though. That sounds scripted. Not the crimes themselves, but the re-enabling of them. It was also mentioned that they appear again back in full force after you complete the campaign.

But my previous point was that now I'm swinging in everywhere but the two upper northeast districts without ever hearing a radio signal that there is something going on.

Once complete the streets are pretty tame but there is the odd thug crime that will appear so there is some randomness imo. And when you enter Act 3 all hell breaks loose and the City is full of things to do again. My favourite part of the game.

It kind of sucks because I've thought about going for my 4th ever platinum but I spent a lot of my challenge tokens on gadget upgrades. I am not good at the challenges and there is no way for me to earn enough to buy all 3 remaining suits. Just not gonna happen.
