I've Never Played A Fighting Game Before...

until tonight when I played Mortal Kombat: Deception and it made me realize that I won't be playing it anymore, LOL. I played on XBOX LIVE and got beat so bad that I think I only got 4 hits in during 2 matches. There's really no hope for me either because I'm up against people that play fighting games ALL THE TIME and I've never played. It would be like me playing my girlfriend at Madden or NHL 2K5. Oh well, back to Star Wars: Battlefront and Splinter Cell until Halo 2 comes out.

LOL. Only way to get better is to play other people. Look me up online ( if i ever get on anymore, too busy) and we can get some time in. I need the practice too.

you really have to pick a game and stick with it...when I was like 12 I'd play tekken 2 at a local arcade, and got pretty good with Taki...I played the first two MK's on genesis for a while, and played Soul Calibur 2 in the college break arcade. Also Street Fighter 2 back in the day. You're right though, it's tough until you learn all the moves for a character, I never really got into the combo stuff, some people really know the game and can totally dominate. I'm gonna rent MK Deception one of these days, seems like it'll be decent.

If you want to start with a 3-D fighter, you should pick up DOA3 and master that, it won't take long. Then when you have the basics figuring out MK won't be too bad.

When does DOA: Ultimate come out? And is it looking good or bad?

If you are a Virtua Fighter/SC 2 nut you'll most likely won't care for it. It's almost the same situation as MK Deception most hardcore fans despise it casuals like it but get bored with it.

DOA is the easiest to get into. No real combos to speak of unlike Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter.
