    Re: Bioshock: The Collection

I forgot all about this. Guess I'll go out this weekend and pick up and add it to the backlog.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Besides updated graphics, is there anything else new?

There are collectable movie reels that play a good 10 to 15 interview with Ken Levine and another guy. There is also a virtual museum for cut content and a challenge arena of some sort.

That's for the first game though, I haven't checked out the other two yet.

started playing the original Bioshock. Forgot how great the atmosphere of the game is. Enjoying playing it again since its been so long since I played it on the PS3 its like its almost all new.

Made the mistake of starting up Infinite while working my way through the first game. Let's just say it's going to be a while before I make my way back to Rapture, lol. Infinite is just the better game IMO (one of my favorite titles from last gen), and that includes the intro. Absolutely love the atmosphere and ambiance and music of Columbia. Plus, the gameplay is just so much more refined... I almost forgot how much fun that sky hook is.

So glad I decided to purchase this collection.

I think so but it is THREE games. It kind of makes sense considering the first two were in Rapture and Infinite was in Columbia. Plus, combined they are around 70 GB. Honestly I'm not sure why the games take up that much space though because I don't think the graphical improvements are that much of an improvement. I do know that audio tends to take up more space than anything but the audio, at least in the first game, is so out of whack I can't see how that is an issue either.

I'm glad it's two discs though because I may never touch the second disc.

I'm pretty sure that is it. From what I've read there is nothing added to 2 or Infinite. The challenge arena was DLC for the PS3 already.

I just went from having a ton of fun to none at all after my first encounter with a big daddy on hard mode. I don't have any money or health and can't see how I'm going to get past this fight.

Talk about frustrating. I just turned the game off and I'm not sure I want to start it up again after this.

Really? I'm playing on Hard and it's not bad at all. The first Big Daddy fight is tough because you really have no upgrades or special weapons to handle him. You just have to hit and run, strafe, and use cover as much as possible. You should also be able to know when he's going to do that charge/rush move and step out of the way in time.

The first one I fought was tough and required me to deplete my med kits to kill him but there was no little sister to be found after I killed him but I got a message when trying to leave the level so I went back and another appeared with a little sister in tow.

The problem is I'm low on everything and I can't beat it to save my life. This may be a weird glitch that I encountered but it's got me backed into a corner and if I have to start over I'll probably wind up just trading it in.

Such a shame because I was finding it to be the perfect balance up until this point. I'm crossing my fingers that I have a previous save file that isn't too far back.

Starting 2 now for a while before bed.

                              Great game still.

Never played Bioshock before. Traded in BLOPS3 and IW and got the collection for 28 bucks! I'm pretty excited about getting into this thing. Because I wasn't a real gamer (only playing sports games) on previous generations, these remasters are awesome for me! [emoji16]
