Sometimes when I go to save my game, the OVERWRITING screen comes up and it just freezes. I wait 20 minutes to see if it would load, but it doesn't. After turning off the PS2, then turning it back on, the save file is corrupt and all progress is lost.I frequent the GAMEFAQs message boards and have already confirmed this to have happened to over a hundred different people, so it is not just my copy or just my ps2.

-I am NOT using any 3rd party memory card, controller etc.
-I am not using Action Reply or anything along that line.
-I am not removing my controller or memory card while in the saving process.

Seeing as I am not the only victim of this problem, I believe there is a HUGE glitch in this game that has affected a lot of people.

Thank you for contacting customer support:

Your save is corrupted. Unfortunately, sometimes it happens. The way to correct it is by erasing your saved game and starting all over again.

gotta love that great customer service! I bet they send out about 50-100 of these before they get tired of seeing them and fix the bug and offer a Madden 04-like replacement disc. The sad truth is that 9 out of 10 companies won't listen to one, two or even 10 or 20 complaints. They need to get a lot of these e-mails before they start considering fixing the problem. It's no big deal to them if a small handful of people complain, but once the complaints start growing louder and it becomes an issue on bigger websites and such THEN they will start listening as their reputation starts to take a hit. Even if every PS2 user is seeing this, only a small fraction of them will actually take steps to let them know about it.

Keep up the fight though! Get enough complaints and they will start listening.

To be fair (and not to defend them because I think its ridiculous) no technical support team will ever get into detail with your problem.

They are trained to answer your question based on a list of set responses. In other words, he's being paid to sound like an idiot.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
