ps2 clicking problem.......................help

my ps2 when it loads just starts clicking my games are not messed up in anyway. Whats should i do? ......with madden it starts clicking and will not load and ncaa does not even start. WHen i try it on my roommates ps2 it works fine

Get out of the room quick. It's about to explode.

Seriously, it sounds like the sensor is broken or blocked. It doesn't sound like it's sensing any disk being loaded. The only problem mine has is that sometimes when I close the tray, it opens again. It keeps doing that for a couple of minutes, and then stops.

Seriously, it sounds like the sensor is broken or blocked. It doesn't sound like it's sensing any disk being loaded. The only problem mine has is that sometimes when I close the tray, it opens again. It keeps doing that for a couple of minutes, and then stops.

It could also be dirt as I had that kind of problem before I had to get my PS2 cleaned up.

Sounds like it having a hard time reading the CD try cleaning the lens or turn the PS2 upside down

Is it me, or is the PS2 the cheapest piece of hardware you've ever owned. Those things consistently break down on you. I cant even tell you how many ppl I know, they're PS2s are dying slow deaths also. My PS2 has the same clicking sound sometimes. Sometimes it just does'nt want to read a disc. You would think adding a Harddrive to the system would speed things up........NoOoOoo, it slows the hell out of the system.

PS1 was the same way, about 3 years in, everybodies PS1s started acting up. Whatever happened to systems that could withstand the test of time. My Sega and SNES still work perfectly to this day and those are almost 10 years old. Hell, my Coleco Vision propbably still works and I have'nt whipped that out in almost 6 years...........meh........

Press CTRL+F and type in click. Press enter and it'll go to the area of the FAQ that talks about the loud clicking noise. You're gonna need to adjust the voltage.

But it's best to send it to Sony if you want to be sure the problem is fixed. It's free if you send it to them. Takes about a week.
