Below average game? If it was a below average game then IGN was generous with the score.

Re: IGN gives Killzone a 7.5

Having played the demo on this month's OPM disc, IGN's review doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Granted, it is not the final product, but based on my experience with that and the demo at E3, Killzone appears to be an ambitious effort for a PS2 shooter that falls a bit short. I will withold final judgement until renting the full version, as I think the online play could potentially make this game a worthwhile purchase.

Many will argue whether or not Killzone lives up to the hype, but I give credit to Sony and Guerilla in generating a tremendous amount of interest in the game, which should result in decent sales, on a console bereft of decent FPSs.

For those of you picking it up, I hope you enjoy it, and be sure to post more in-depth impressions for us non-believers out there

Well said man, this line says it all "Killzone appears to be an ambitious effort for a PS2 shooter that falls a bit short."

Good game could have been much better if it was made on better hardware. I love my PS2 but its starting to show its age. I only hope they put Killzone 2(which is already planned) on PS3 and not PS2.

It's still a blast to play online tho
