    Need a new game

I'm looking to purchase a new game for Xbox One. I'd say that typically I play Madden about 75% of the time I'm logged on to my Xbox. The other time has been spent playing Battlefield 1 recently. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, but I can't help to feel like the game gets a little to dry after a while of playing it over and over.

I've looked up and down at all of the Xbox market place, numerous gaming sites (what's left of them anyway) and I just can't make a decision or even begin to wonder what type of game I want.

So I'm asking you guys, what game or games should I look into buying and why?

Games I've played int he past:
    Dying Light - Loved it!
    Fallout 3/4 - I skipped New Vegas, but I loved 3. 4 I couldn't get into.
    Skyrim - Too boring
The Division - Loved it while it lasted
TitanFall - It was great, but I'm skeptical of 2 at the moment.
Grand Theft Auto - I used to play all the old ones, I'm not sure how into the new one I'd be though as I'm not into all the character swapping and such.

I'm open to any games, just give me a good reason why!

Witcher 3 if you haven't played already..Should be cheap too.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I see so many people on the internets recommending The Witcher 3.

Halo 5 and Gears of War 4 are the 2 must have games if you own an Xbox One. Both have an excellent story mode and made Xbox famous. Rise of the Tomb Raider is another great game with an excellent story.

I second this, received Wolfenstein (both the New Order and the Old Blood) as a Christmas gift and am really enjoying it. I find the post WWII German victory setting engaging and interesting, even if slightly disappointed that
you-know-who isn't in the game! Also not completely linear as you get rewarded with upgrades etc for exploring the levels. Haven't played DOOM yet but it looks fun and is on my list. Battlefield One got me back playing FPS's again after a long break

                  Other games I'd recommend are:

DIRT Rally: The latest in the Colin McRae Rally series from Codemasters, which I have tied with the original for my favourite in the entire series

Batman: Arkham Knight - The last of the Batman Arkham games, would definitely recommend this if if you like any sort of superhero movies/comics. If you haven't played Arkham Asylum or Arkham City, you can also get these in the Arkham Collection

Rocket League - Car Football!? It's so simple yet so enjoyable. There are also other game types that have been added, such as Car Basketball and Car Ice Hockey.

                  Hope this helps!

                      Forza Horizon 3
I literally just purchased an Xbox One Slim for the second time (fourth overall if you count the base Xbox One) a week ago for this game and it's expansions. Ordered a $50 Xbox Live currency car last night so now, it's a simple waiting game for the game and expansion pass to hit my price point as I'll be buying it digitally. Don't get me wrong, it's easily worth $60 digitally because the game is in fact great but I have monetary limits in regards to digital games because I know that im stuck with those games no matter what. Played Forza Horizon 3 at launch and seriously, it's a must own game and arguably the console's best exclusive.

                      Gears of War 4
Excellent third person cover based shooter. Excellent visuals and gameplay. Solid story and characters. Weather effects are insane and the best since Mad Max.

                      Ori and the Blind Forest
Amazing 2D plat-former with amazing visuals, great music and sound along with excellent gameplay. May not be for you but at the very least I suggest watching a gameplay walkthrough on YouTube to see if it is for you.

                      The Witcher III: Wild Hunt
In my opinion, the best game this generation and the two expansions are better than probably 90% of the games that have been released on consoles this generation. I spent $50 on the game and the expansion pass for PS4 digitally so for me to do that says a lot. Every RPG will simply be judged by this game and to be perfectly honest, Square Enix, BioWare and Bethesda have a lot of catching up to do.

                      Rise of the Tomb Raider
Better than PS4's Uncharted 4 in my opinion. Story is the weakest aspect of the game and the characters are decent outside of Lara but that's not why you would want to play this game. The combat, exploration, scavenging, hunting, crafting, tombs, locales, atmosphere and immersion would be why you play this game. Visually, looks great and audio is very good as well. Gameplay overall is also very good.

                      Titanfall 2
An excellent FPS with damn good shooting mechanics and plat-forming. Good story as well. Visually, looks beautiful. Is currently 1B for me in regards to FPS this year. BF1 was 1A. Doom was fourth and COD: IW was third.

                      Wolfenstein: The New Order
Third best FPS this generation for me personally behind BF1 and TF2. Very good game. Sequel is expected to be announced at E3 in June.

                      GTA V
I played this on PS3 but it's a very good game. Enjoyed it more than GTA IV, San Andreas and GTA III but Vice City is still the franchise's best in my opinion.

                      Mad Max
My third best game of 2015. If you don't mind playing Ubisoft style open world games in which you take over a district/region one by one (not that you have to do this but is how I play open world games that have districts/regions, etc.) and use hot air balloons to go up into the sky and scout the area around you and mark everything on your map. Visually, looks great with the best weather effects in a game thus far. Great music, sound and voice acting. Car combat is the best since Twister Metal. Gameplay is a more violent high impact visceral version of the Batman Arkham games. Story and characters are underwhelming but to be fair, anyone who knows the Mad Max lore should know what it's all about.

                      The Evil Within
Very good stealth survival horror game from Mikami who made RE. Not great but in the 8 range. Looking forward to the rumored sequel which like Wolfenstein is most likely going to appear at E3.

                        Re: Need a new game

                        Great information!

It's always really tough for me to get anything outside of a sports game, simply because I feel like I always have a tough time finding something I really enjoy playing.

I've heard a lot of good about Witcher III. The only thing holding me back has been the fact that 2 different people have told me it's extremely slow to get into. To me, that's tough. Only because when I sit down to play I usually have maybe an hour or so to play then I have to put it down and come back the next day or so and do another hour again. I don't want to only be able to put in an hour here and there other than the weekends and not actually be able to get engulfed in the storyline/quests. I'd say that's the only thing. Perhaps those people were unjust in telling me that information.

I have never heard of Wolfenstein or Mad Max! (Yes, in terms of gaming I probably live under a rock) I'm definitely going to check them out. Just having suggestions really helps me a lot. Thanks guys!

This was me maybe a month or so ago. The guys here have been TREMENDOUS in helping with that. My go-to review guy on YouTube has been ACG (Karak) and for walk throughs (to see the gameplay) I've gravitated toward TheRadBrad and GhostRobo. Watching walk throughs has been VERY beneficial as well.

I used to think that I only wanted to play shooters where I was a human shooting other humans in a modern military atmosphere a la Modern Warfare. Thanks to the guys here, walk throughs and reviews I've found that I would have missed out on A LOT of great games if I stuck to that way of thinking!

                          Good luck.

                            Re: Need a new game

I was actually able to make THREE purchases this morning on the XBL Marketplace due to some huge sales being held.

I purchased Wolfenstein ($19.99), Mad Max ($9.99) and Dirt Rally ($39.99).

I was pretty impressed with being able to buy Mad Max for $9.99 after hearing how you guys talked about it and reading/watching some reviews and gameplay on the internet. The game looks like it's going to be fantastic and I'm pretty excited to get to play it and try it out. Same thing with Wolfenstein, judging by reviews I'd say I haven't played a shooter anything like this since back on the original Xbox. Single player, no multiplayer. Hoping just to have some great storyline on that one.

I used to play Colin McRae Rally I believe on the original Xbox and I played Dirt 3 quite a bit when it had come out, so that was a no brainer for me discounted at $39.99.

Best of all, I just bought 3 games for what is basically the price of 1 now days. So with that, I keep the wife happy I'm not spending too much on a couple of games.

Thanks again guys, and as always if there are any more suggestions, keep them coming. There's always a chance these games don't stick or I don't pick up with them
