Skill building with single player Halo 2

When I was in the online lobby a couple of players told me your multi player game would consideably improve if you beat the single player campagn game. Does anyone agree or is the best way to improve your skills constant multi player battles?

I would think the AI of the enemies at the toughest 2 difficulties would be better than that of your average Halo 2 player online, so I imagine this would be true.

well, I'm not too sure of that (I don't think the AI is smarter than a human, that's pretty damn tough to do), but I think that the highest levels throw a ton of guys at you, so it would improve your reaction time as well as ability to deal with multiple guys...Plus you'd be playing the game, and even just that is practice.

Legendary difficulty in this version is supposed to be awesome. It's a completely new game. I'm gonna start a second campaign on it to try it out. It doesn't just give you more enemies, it makes they much more intelligent. It also makes YOUR guys more intelligent.
