    Delayed until 2023.

I'll take a finished game over a rushed one every time. Just hope that it's actually finished when they get there.

They showed some starfield today. The engine looks so dated. Bit of a disappointment for me.

I like the look of the environments and the different perks you could select. The shooting looked off and the 1000 planets is a worry. I would rather have 50-75 planets packed with stuff vs 1000 that are barren. Still excited to play next year.

I thought it looked awesome except shooting. Mostly because the weapons seemed to lack individuality but it was not enough to really make a full opinion.

Openness looked awesome. Loved the size of the galaxy/system. Just enough to be fairly daunting but not too much where it’s overwhelming. Sucks we need to wait until 23.

              Re: Starfield

I think it looks pretty good. The space stuff is what draws me in. I'm a huge astronomy buff so the thousand planets is cool by me. I don't mind barren planets considering that's probably what dominates the universe anyway. I wonder if we will be able to do anything with the gas giants?

So I'm kinda wondering where we are in relation to Earth. It looks like it was 2300 something. Most likely all the systems in the game are confined to our galaxy. And I'm thinking the relics we are looking for probably open up the key to traversing the entire universe. But that's just a complete guess.

I also wasn't thrilled about the combat. But we'll see how it turns out. I do like the options you are presented with.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with the number of planets. I imagine that many of them will likely be a bit generic, supporting little to no life, but possibly good for resource gathering. Then there will be like 100 that actually are individually designed with populations of human/alien species. The high volume of planets adds to the exploration of the game, but I do agree we also need a relatively large system of planets that the designers have really put a lot of effort into for missions.

Graphics looked fine to me. Some aspects of it were better than others, but overall I had a positive view of it.

I like the idea of building outposts. I imagine that will be an important part of crafting.

Also a big plus that you're not limited to landing at 1 specific space port on each planet.

When you say dated, is it that many of the gameplay features is similar to No Man's Sky? Graphically, it looks outstanding. Performance was eh....

A feature that No Man's Sky has and done quite well wont exist in Starfield dampens my excitement.

During the discussion, Howard said the team has tried to implement many of the ideas requested for the game, but the ability to seamlessly fly a starship from a planet’s surface into space was left on the cutting-room floor.

"People have asked, ‘Can you fly the ship straight down to the planet?’” Howard said. “No. We decided early in the project that the on-surface is one reality, and then when you’re in space it’s another reality."

Pretty upsetting that you can't go down and land yourself. I don't mind as much that you can't really fly through space like you can in No Man's Sky or Elite Dangerous (even though I would have loved the option). It's not a deal breaker for me. It just would have been really cool to jump into a planetary system and start your descent down, find a good spot to land, and do so. Games like this need those little additional details to help give you that true sandbox feel.

Graphically it looks ok.. I certainly wouldn't say outstanding. It looks like fallout 4. The environments look slightly better but the NPC's look mediocre. The enemy ai was god awful but that will obviously be cleaned up. I own a series s, and will still be playing this day 1.

I see what you mean. Even though there's photo-realistic shots that look excellent, the NPC's still have that "old" feeling of Creation Engine instead of Creation Engine 2. So if you're weighing against say Unreal Engine 5? There's a difference.

Not as excited as I once was, I still like to look for new info on this game whenever possible. Although NMS gives me what I want and need in space exploration and gaming, I'm still going to keep an eye out for this. Here's some new gameplay.

Looks amazing from this segment, my only worry is they put too much in the game. 1000 planets in total? Man that is a ton to have variety on each one but who knows? Having complete autonomy over every FOB and ship creation? Spread that over 1000 planets and how in earth to keep up with it?

Going to say hype levels are starting to increase. Yeah, I know Bethesda likes to control the narrative but word from testers coming back as "exceeding expectations" is noticeable. Lots of new goodies from this latest.
