Less than 24 hours until early access...

Taking my mother to her MRI appointment tomorrow morning, working and then by 8pm I'm tapping into my youth for the next four days. I have family coming in this weekend, and y'know what? I'm still grabbing some (sugar free, why, of course) energy drinks and staying up late all the way through Monday, while still hanging out with the fam and cooking for them. There's always a place for a small amount of selfish irresponsibility at this level from time to time, methinks lol.

I'm going to avoid Reddit as well as YouTube comments like the plague after 8pm tomorrow night. However, I'll still check into here the next couple of days (asides from the fact that I'll always have love for OS).

I'm really excited to read what kind of 'characters' you guys create regarding backgrounds and traits.

I'm just going with the flow, happy go lucky, as for my creation. Haven't decided yet. Just going to go with whatever impulse I have and watch the hours pass by.

I like can't contain my excitement? This Game is doing what not many games have done in a long time, and that's keeping the hype.

Tonight... we get to see Starfield for the first time ourselves. Fly and swim across the lands, one tile at a time (lol).

I've had a lot of fun with Baldurs Gate 3, but this is the game that I've been so hyped about.

I told my wife what the current count down is at until release and she just says "uh oh. I'm never going to see you again am I?"

Tonight... we get to see Starfield for the first time ourselves. Fly and swim across the lands, one tile at a time (lol).

Haven't been this hyped for a Day One release since Skyrim, GTA V and Half Life 2.

And those games came out a decade or longer ago.

It really is a weird controversy.

My wife this morning was similar. "See you Tuesday morning?" We both laughed because we both know I'll be on the couch gaming. And she'll be next to me reading on her Kindle, lol.


And I'm glad my cheeky-ness was seen, it was such an odd complaint! This isn't No Man's Sky, lol.

I love people who overreact.

This game is getting 8/10s, 9/10s, heck even some 10/10s... but people are fixated on the very fee 7/10s.

I've seen a few reviews so far. I don't know that I'm any less hyped for it, but I am disappointed to see a few fears confirmed (namely the how minimal space exploration seems to be). Also, while I originally scoffed at the tile controversy, after seeing it in action I do think that it is a disappointing of a result. Encountering a loading screen as I'm running around is a mild annoyance, but not be able to actually explore things that I can actually see in the distance does far more to kill any immersion that I may have felt.

That being said. Things like the 7/10 from IGN just seem kind of ridiculous. That reviewer was overly obsessed with a few small things and penalized the game for not having something like the VAT system from Fallout (something I actually think is a huge upgrade vs that series). Most reviews that I have seen say that it's a good-very good game, but it has problems, especially versus how a lot of people probably set their expectations from some of the marketing and build up. The overall consensus seems to be that if you like Skyrim and other Bethesda games then there should be plenty of enjoyment with Skyrim as long as you don't expect something revolutionary.

None of these AAA massive hype games in recent years have really stuck with me. Cyberpunk being the one I was hyped the most about and that at launch was just brutal.

We shall see but I would not be surprised if the IGN score was more accurate than the 10s being chucked about for me personally.

In ALL my years of playing video games (and it's a LOT of years...lol) I cannot for the life of me remember a time when a game was met with a "certain camp" wanting it to fail this bad.

It's actually sad and pathetic at the same time, last I seen Starfield is currently sitting at an 87, and I just seen on Youtube some dude on Twitter say it was another "flop" for Xbox...now I ask this, in what sane world is an 87 a flop?

I am by no means a fanboy of either Microsoft or Sony, but this really paints Sony fans in a bad light (imo) I'm sure Xbox fans at some point did and said things that made folks go huh?...but to the lengths of Sony fans?

I am really at a loss to what playing video games has come to...it's all "hail and praise" to a damn piece of plastic...

Yeah, and I certainly don’t want to add to the console war, but over the last couple of weeks, I’ve seen quite a few predictions of this exact thing happening and it seems to be exactly that. It’s sad.
