New IP from Ubisoft entitled SKULL and BONES which is based on the naval combat from AC IV: Black Flag and AC Rogue. Can be played solo or in multiplayer. Available FALL 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One & PC.

As someone who LOVED the naval battles in both of those AC games and has been waiting for a pirate game, im pumped especially since I can play solo. Looks great as expected and the naval battles were so addictive and fun in the two AC games. Can't wait for Skull & Bones!!!

If it's nothing but naval warfare, it'll get old extremely fast. If there's a legit story with treasure hunting missions and legendary pirates/ships (think pirates of the carribean) and port cities with an rpg element, where you can get drunk, cause mischief, lie with women, etc. That'd be awesome. But all I'm seeing is naval warfare.

It looks and feels very For Honor in ships. Ubi always follows similar plans with their games so I don't know what to think on this one. They've already said it's very multiplayer heavy but has some sort of offline mode. I'm sure it'll be delayed into 2019 and look different when it finally releases, but hard to get too excited for a game that's 18ish months away. The ship combat did look really good though.

Sea of Thieves is looking more along what I'd like to see out of a pirate game. This like EG said seems too MP heavy and will get a bit old.

Yeah, if it's ONLY ship battles then meh. I'm hoping that you can fight when boarding ships, go underwater and on some small lands. Ship battles, like the art of battle in For Honor though is awesome though. Ubisoft will hopefully just expand on the game. Add in that other stuff and I can play solo, im 100% in.

Was very impressed with this game showing. I don't know why the game developers have never made more Pirates games. I am definitely keeping my eye on this one and will likely buy it if it pans out to be what it looks like it is going to be.

Lol.....Found you "Ya rotten scoundrel" on page 15. Remember this game? Was all but forgotten since 2017. It's releasing November 8, Election Day no less. I remember I was excited for it. Now? Eh! It's been so long it's now a PS5/XBox Series X|S consoles only. Here's Ubisoft's questionable gameplay trailer released a few days ago. Got to admit they know how to play it up nice.

So much potential to make a great pirate game and it seems they made a bunch of choices to purposefully not create it.

Yeah man, I have lost all enthusiasm for this game. I was thinking Sid Meiers Pirates! in a modern day game but it doesn't appear to be anything like that.

Also, I was invited to the beta but could never get the game to run on my PC.

Was so looking forward to this game. Still don't understand how Ubisoft can screw up making a pirate game when they have the blueprint and template for it already!!! SMH!!!

is anyone playing the Closed beta? I'm having a pretty fun time playing solo. I imagine it will be really fun with a crew.

I was extremely excited about this initially. However, after being able to observe more of the gameplay, my interest quickly waned! It appears to be 95% ship combat with no ability to board ships and battle with muskets and swords. I read that boarding other ships is only a cut scene lol.....Really guys lol? This is what we're doing?

I was fully prepared for a full open world, ship combat, some sword fighting & swashbuckling (lol), cameo appearances from Davy Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean version), the works!!

Looks like this will be a no go for me.
