But I think the difference is the fact that I pay cash for everything I buy rather than putting it on a credit card.

I don't see anything wrong with spending money on games and movies. I figure I earned the money working hard and I deserve to spend it on whatever I want.
I agree....I guess I've just learned a bit from my own mistakes and others so just trying to share the perspective. At 20, I'm sure you're not more than a few years away from moving out. Being 23 myself, I did over a year ago and wish I had some money put away. There's nothing wrong with buying the stuff you want but IMO 70% is a lot to be blowing. If you saved a bit more of that I'm sure you'd be surprised how quickly it adds up.

        Ding ding!

That's it right there. I pay for everything in cash. In fact, the only reason I have a credit card is to improve my credit. But, I never use my credit card unless I already have the money in my hand (or home, if you want to look at it that way). Then I pay my credit card bill the next day. I've done this for over a year now and have never received a bill with a balance from my credit card company. I've received credit increases faster than Jared can run to Subway.

But, a lot of this has to do with being smart with your money. The only way you can go into debt is if you spend more than you make. I still don't understand how anyone could mishandle such an easy solution. Buy only what you can afford. Always pay in cash (unless you are strong enough to follow the system I've been following for the last year+). And keep monthly payments at a minimum.

February- Champions: Return to Arms, Xenosaga 2

            March- Jade Empire

April- one or both of the baseball games.

May maybe ??? please be May or June( Nah, not June-I bet Ncaa football 2006 is going to come out in June next year). It sure as hell isn't going to be July or August. May, I vote for May to be- NO NEW GAMES MONTH-<NO MONTH GAME NEW> <NO MONTH GAME NEW>so we can all catch up on all the rental games we haven't got around to renting.

Good to see another Suikoden/Xenosaga fan! Since NCAA 05 came out I've had to by like 2-3 games a month. Nothing came out last year, but this year the market is flooded. (Especially with RPG's!!!) In Oct. I bought Nocturne and GTA:SA. In Nov. Metal Gear Solid 3 and College Hoops. I want Pirates and Ghost Recon 2, but I'm pushing that back to Dec. and not getting KOTOR 2. January is Suikoden 4 and Resident Evil 4. Febuary is Xenosaga 2. Digital Devil Saga maybe in March. FF12 in April (So far). Dont forget the Baseball games. Looks like May will be catch up/save your loot month cause looks like June will be the Legend of Zelda. Happy Gaming!!!
