I picked it up yesterday but work has kept me from playing yet.
Hope to start it today sometime.

Played Exodus for two hours which was the intro/prologue. Artyom controls stiff especially coming off of New Dawn in which controlling your character is very fluid and responsive. Other than that, I wish that there was more HUD options. I would love to see my ammo count on screen at all times while also being able to turn off the damage feedback which is the blood on the screen and the enemy detection arrow as I dislike both and wish I could turn them off.

Overall though, loving everything else in the game. In two hours, I got more story than I had in the majority if not the entirety of Far Cry New Dawn. Will be starting fresh tomorrow and will play all day.

Anyone playing this? Would someone like myself who has never played any game in this series be able to pick it up and enjoy it? I need a new game to carry me over until The Show comes out. Would be playing on PC.

Due to work, I won't be able to really dive in until Thursday but for someone who hasn't played either of the two previous games, you might be somewhat lost in regards to the story as it is a continuation from game to game in the series unless you watch a story recap video on youtube.

Gameplay wise, Metro Exodus is a very slow paced, methodical, survival first, shooter second type of game with a heavy emphasis on exploration, immersion, atmosphere, story, characters and narrative. If you enjoy survival horror games and don't mind the slow pacing, very heavily focused on story and character engagement with long conversations and stealth gameplay, then I would say give it a shot.

I'm playing on PS4 Pro and haven't had any issues thus far at all technical wise but I have seen others have problems and issues across all platforms. So in this regard, you might want to look into it a little more. I would also suggest watching the "uncovered" trailer that I posted several posts above. It gives you an overview of what the game is. Hope this helps.

Someone please tell me the game picks up. After it downloaded I only had time to play about 2 hrs last night. And I think only 15 minutes of it was actual gameplay. Rest was video I just sat and watched. I know it’s early but curious on the game and it’s history.

Where did you make it up to? The intro/prologue is very slow paced and simply sets up the story, why your home base is what it is as well as the characters and narrative of the game. Once you get past the prologue and advance the story via the physical in game map, you'll get to the first wide linear opened area. Still slow paced though.

Honestly, if you're expecting a fast paced non-stop COD/BF/Far Cry type shooter, you won't find it here. The shooting is at best, second most important aspect, maybe even third if you take into account the exploration, scavenging and resource gathering.

Okay. You can "exit" which allows you to stay on the train, walk around it and talk to all the other characters that are with you on your journey. If you select the icon that looks like the world, it advances you to the first main wide linear area and advances the story. There's definitely more action and shooting in the upcoming area but it's still stealth and exploration focused first and foremost.

Yea I'm fine with all that. Just as long as I'm doing something and not just watching a movie.

What's everyone's Fps goal for this game? Beautiful with 60 fps or much higher in the hundreds? I'm still messing with all the settings, rtx, advanced physics, hairworks etc trying to find the perfect balance I want.

The below video will explain the story of Metro 2033 and Last Light better and more in depth than I can with typing. Also, the first two hours of Exodus has a great story and twist right off the bat. If you're a story, narrative and character driven gamer, then I definitely recommend Exodus.

Okay but remember, Metro franchise including Exodus is first and foremost driven by story, narrative and characters. I will finally get to dive in tomorrow 100% as I have only played the intro/prologue which honestly, has already wowed me with the story, the twist and I love how everything is explained as to why it exists. Hope you end up enjoying Exodus more as you play through it.

Sorry. I'm playing on PS4 Pro and the frame rate is for a most part, a stable 30FPS but for a slow paced game like Exodus, I don't worry much about frame rate. With 1440P resolution and HDR, the game looks amazing and is definitely a benchmark in visuals and effects according to Digital Foundry which is of no surprise to me as 4A Games is an excellent developer, especially when it comes to the visual aspect.

This game is a straight up hybrid of Alien Isolation, Fallout, Bioshock - all into one. Also, it has great stealth that reminds me of the older Far Cry games. What I'm trying to say is that I'm LOVING this game 6 hours in so far.

Once I finish my play through of RE2 I'll be jumping back into this and sticking with it until I'm done.
