I've used both now. Prefer Pro but that's simply preference as both worked fine.

Man this game is so much fun...

Pro controller for me. Works just fine with the little motion flicks and movements.

I think if the joy cons were just a little bigger overall, with taller analog sticks, I would maybe like the two handed setup they seem to be recommending for this game.

Loved the wiimote and nunchuck setup for the Wii/Wii U, but the nunchuck had a proper analog stick and fit more comfortably in my hand.

                  Re: Mario Odyssey

I get a vibe from Odyssey i haven't felt since Wind Waker.

They're both very similar in game design

                  Sailboat = AirShip
Islands over water = Worlds through air

But thats just the face value of it

It evokes the same type of exploration that Link had going out for the first time seeing things he had never seen kinda like mario is doing

Game is nearly perfect for me and worth buying a Switch for (even though I bought one at release). Using the joycons and actually prefer it to using the pro controller.

It's addictive for sure. So far I haven't got the usual "boredom" when trying to complete an area 100%. Been fun the whole time so far. Need to get as much played as I can as starting Thursday..it's back to the grind for a while at work.

I feel like this game is basically a completionist's dream.

It throws you out there, says there is a story, but in reality it's about exploring every area of a place and collecting and discovering everything.

I'm very happy with the direction of SMO. Nintendo did Mario and its fans right.

Didn't know how I wanted to play this game but decided on completing story first and then really getting into the end game

Oddly enough this game is a mix between MANY Nintendo favorites.

I feel a WindWaker, Majoras Mask and Ocarina of Time Vibe more so than when I played Breath of the wild. That's crazy

Count me in as enjoying the game too. I just finished the Woodland Kingdom, so just a few hours in. I'm mainly focused on completing the story while finding as many moons as I can as I go. Kind of a quick search of each kingdom for the moons, but nothing to in-depth or grinding. Hoping postgame that I'll want to finish it out like it have done for the 2D Mario's.
