I chose an assassin as my character and the tutorials for all 4 characters are good. I think you have the same basic functions but the special moves you have are different for each character. Like a samurai can cut down 3 people if you have 3 bars full. Ronin can revive people, archer can shoot and kill 3 people with one attack and Assassin can “teleport” and chain assassinate 3. I’m a bit confused if I can create and play with all 4. You have a lot of customization options you can earn as you play.

Did those and one online coop mission which was OK. I’m curious how a 4 person Raid might be.

Early on I thought the game was dragging, but the side quests have provided more to do as the game has moved along in Act I. Part of me thinks this game would be better served to be a more linear game, but the other part likes the exploration. I think I'm just feeling pressed to finish before Cyberpunk and need to slow down.

The AI gives me some serious Assassins' Creed vibes

Sort of unrelated, but I have been past Tsushima 8 or so times traveling between Japan and South Korea and I never gave it any thought. No one even really ever brought it up and here I am exploring 1200's Tsushima. This game has also promted me to go do some reading/research about the time period and history and to me that's a good indicator that the game is good. Any sort of entertainment that gets my brain going like that is good.

The stories are growing on me a bit more. The Yuna character story was really well written.

Everything else is starting to feel like a chore though. I did get the middle section completely clear. Now to finish the story and mop up the north. I only have a couple main story missions to go.

BTW, it's kinda weird how they handled

being locked out of the two southern sections. I'm surprised they let you back in after you took the western fort. Is your uncle simply not having anyone look for you anymore?

i haven't gone to one of the 50 spots they bombarded the map with to enter the new Legends stuff yet.

For anyone who has done that, I read that there are co-op raids. When you do those, can you have a friends only lobby where you can gather your own crew to do them?

That's what I found strange. I was expecting to be up north until everything was resolved. I'd expect my uncle to have spies keeping an eye out for a guy who has escaped from his prison. Then again, maybe having spies is "too indirect and dishonorable". Will be interesting to see if they address this as the main story is resolved.

I was today years old when I found out Tsushima Island was a real place.

Honestly, I had no idea. I thought it was a fictional Japanese island the developers created just for this game.

Yeah the Mongols had a pretty good run there. At the height of their empire they controlled everything from roughly Eastern Europe through China. They always had trouble trying to take Japan though. Their invading Navy got destroyed by storms. Twice.

It’s pretty damn fun Mike.

Played a little survivor during lunch. Our group made it to the last boss wave before 3 of us died and one guy tried to be the hero instead of buying us some time to respawn.

Folks really love hitting those energy barrels when only they’re around smh.

Just finished Act 2 and started a bit of Act 3. Amazed at how great this game is. In my opinion, it's better than Witcher 3.

(I'll wait for people to fight me).

Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)

The writing here ended up being on par with Witcher 3 as the game went on. The main thing that sets Witcher apart for me is all the choices that you make throughout the game and feeling the consequences of those choices.

Combat in this game is more fluid than Witcher, but that camera gets wonky sometimes.
