Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
Just completed:
Campaign on Injustice 2
Currently playing:
MLB The Show 18
(Want to pick one other from "immediate backlog")
Immediate backlog:
Horizon Zero Dawn - started, not finished
Assassin's Creed Origins
Life Is Strange: Before the Storm (which will be followed by a replay of the original)
Mass Effect: Andromeda (never completed it...want to do a full restart)
Uncharted Series (yeah, I know....but never got through 1 and I want to do them in order)
Rise of the Tomb raider (never quite finished it)
Future Purchases:
Detroit: Become Human (Day 1 purchase)
God of War (might wait for a discount though)
Madden 19 - this is just me being realistic, I can state I won't buy it this year...but it would be a lie
Games I will likely purchase at some stage and regret doing so:
Far Cry 5
RDR 2
A note on that last category....I just don't do well with these open-world games that have 5 trillion side quests. I start them, get overwhelmed and then quit playing...only to try again later but having to totally restart so I remember the game mechanics and storyline. My track record is horrible with getting far in these. I frankly need a game that is a bit more "on rails" and has a strong underlying story to keep me into it. But then, I hear how "Amazing" a game is, buy it and fall right back into the same trap.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
I have decreased the size of my video game library quite substantially in the past month. Traded in games that I've finished that I was holding onto thinking I'd play them again - but the reality is the games were sitting there for years without being touched and likely weren't going to get picked up anytime soon. Was able to put the credit towards getting a PS4 Pro, which I believe was a worthwhile investment.
I also got rid of games that were going to require 50-plus hours of gameplay, as I just don't have the desire to play those massive games after going through Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn. Doesn't mean I won't pick one of these games up down the road, but for right now, doesn't fit my schedule.
These moves have enabled me to really dive in and focus on a singular title. Right now, it's MLB The Show 18. I'm making great progress in my Mets franchise, and there's no guilt in not playing the rows of games that were sitting on my shelves.Currently Playing:
MLB The Show 25 (PS5)Comment

Don't have a lot of time these days.
When I do have time it's with Far Cry 5. Eventually The Show will be on the list..
Too many PC games to mention....
Reason I'm probably waiting on getting GOW.Joshua:

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
Not really playing anything at the moment, but 2018 is shaping up to be an expensive year for me.
2018 purchases
Dissidia Final Fantasy
Spider-Man
Far Cry 5
Days Gone
Vampyr
Shenmue 3
MLB The Show 18
Ace Combat 7
Cyberpunk 2077 (assuming it actually comes out in 2018)
Battletech
(Maybes)
Crackdown 3
Anthem
Ghost of Tsushima
Mechwarrior 5
A quarter through the year and only 3 games on my list have been released. 2 have been non-purchases for me (The Show, for reasons that are discussed well enough in that forum, and Far Cry 5 because I haven't quite felt like committing to it yet). Dissidia was a Day 1 buy, but I haven't touched it since the first day or 2. Not a bad game, just nothing really there to keep me coming back to it. God of War looks great, but it's kind of in Far Cry 5 territory me. I know I'd love it if i picked it up, but I probably wouldn't commit much time to play it right now so I might as well just wait for it to go on sale.
Not on the list I picked up Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. Probably the best SAO game I've played froma combat perspective, but I haven't played it much.
Currently Playing
Picked up Ghost Recon Wildlands last week on sale. It occupied a good bit of my time over the weekend. I can see myself sinking some time into it.
Out of the Park Baseball 19. Fantastic game.
Overwatch...many things about it frustrate me, but I'm on almost every night for 2-3 hours with a few friends.
Up next
Battletech is set to release next week. That one I'm pretty excited about, but it looks like the rest of my 2018 games are looking at late Q3/Q4.Comment

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
Current:
GR : Wildlands
Fortnite
Fortnite and Ghost Recon Wildlands PVP have taken over my life. Wildlands may be the only console game I play continuously for now, Ghost War has been really fun for me and my squad as we continue to learn things. I don’t want Fortnite to mess with my learning curve, so I may play it strictly on iOS.
Future purchases:
Assassins Creed (Huge fan of the Series, just didn’t get around to buying this iteration)
Madden 19
Shenmue 3 if it actually releases this year like I’ve read.
2k, FIFA, Madden and Live have all been put on the back burner for me. May not play until the new ones are released in all honesty.

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
Fortnite has littelry taken over my gaming time. Since August I've purchased just a few games. Madden (played about 2 months) COD (traded in after a week) and NBA Live when it was $9. I skipped Far Cry and I'll skip God of War for now as well. My next for sure purchases are Red Dead Redemption 2 and the next Battlefield game. The rest are in the air.
We still have got to get together and run some on Fortnite. I have a pretty regular group I run with but we’re always looking to add another player.Comment

I have a back log the size of the Mississippi. It’s crazy.
So what I am doing to simply taking them one game at a time. I am currently playing through:
The Witcher 3 - this game is a joy and I am simply taking my sweet time, taking breaks, etc etc. I am in no rush to complete it.
Far Cry 5 - I am jamming this game. And I expect to finish it in the next month.
Once I finish Far Cry 5 I will move on to another game in my back log.....and I am playing all games on easy. Yes that’s right. I want to simply enjoy the story, the gameplay and not get crazy with having to repeat levels, missions etc over and over.
I am a hardcore sports gamer so non sports games are fit in as a break from my MLB seasons. It’s all about The Show 18 for me most evenings.
However one thing I am done doing is buying more games on sale for a long long time. The only two purchases I plan on making for the remainder of 2018 are:
Super Mega Baseball 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
Battlefield V
That is it.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 05-03-2018, 02:16 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
I’m, thankfully, getting MUCH better at running out and buying new games! I bought FC5 and I think I’m done for the year. Was going to get RDR2 but I hear it’s like an old west GTA so I’m likely gonna pass since I’m not a huge fan of GTA.

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
I’ve completed three more games just before spring arrives in Canada and I slow down my gaming to enjoy the better weather. I’m still trying to make space for some new titles in 2018.
On the List for 2018 Purchase
Far Cry 5
Red Dead Redemption 2
Detroit: Become Human
God of War
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (going to wait until they iron out the bugs and a Steam sale)
(I’m going to assume we dont see Cyberpunk 2077 this year)
Games Finished in 2018
Ghost Recon Wildlands (PS4 – Advanced/Expert– Level 30/Tier 23, 100 per cent) – Ah, Bolivia, the land of cocaine and helicopters. The setting is the highlight of this game – it’s gorgeous on my PS4 Pro. Sometimes I would just stop and look at the sunsets. Most reviews I read didn’t care much for the story but I actually liked it and the two different endings. I thought the antagonist, El Sueño, was an interesting character with some depth. He was no cartoon bad guy. I loved the combat, the use of drones and playing as much as I could in stealth. I played almost the entire game in single player mode and the sync shot is way too overpowered. I set a house rule that I could only use it if I was one of the dudes lining up a shot. I thought the helicopters made it way too easy to fly into an enemy base and land right next to your objective. 9 out of 10.
Bioshock Infinite (PC -- Hard) – Finally completed this years after I bought it. I think there were a couple years where I stopped playing it all together. The story is well done with a thought provoking ending that I won’t spoil but plays on the word infinite. The city in the clouds is spectacular to play in. I like that there is a penalty for dying (loss of some money, some enemies heal) which most games seem reluctant to do. My only complaint is that Elizabeth is pretty useless in battles, especially when you compare her to someone like Alyx Vance from Half Life 2. I found that a lot of the vigors I never used but tended to just rely on two or three. It took me like five hours to win the final battle on hard level because I am a glutton for punishment. 9 out of 10.
Battlefield 1 (PS4 -- Hard) – Single Player Campaign – Can you really complete a game that is primarily multiplayer? Well, I loved the single player campaign more than I expected. EA is great at large scale battle scenes. I liked the idea that instead of putting you in the shoes of just one person, you played as different people across some interesting World War One environments. My only complaint is that the campaign is very short but I get that the game is designed for online players. I don’t play much online but when I did I enjoyed the maps although I got owned pretty badly. I’d give it 8 out of 10.
Previously completed this year:
Pillars of Eternity (PC -- Normal) – Act 3/Character Level 12
Witcher 3 (PC – Blood and Broken Bones) Character Level 35
Recent Purchases 2017-2018
Witcher 3 DLC – Not started yet

Far Cry Primal (PS4 – Survival – Hard) – 20 per cent
Sniper Elite 4 (PC – Snipe Elite Level – Finished Third Mission)
Stardew Valley (PC) – Level 4 Farmer

Re: 2018 Gaming Plans
I am looking for some new games this year like Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.
it was released on, 3 May 2018.
Has Anyone planning on picking it up?
To be honest, Although I don't feel I've quite had my money out of TW:W2 at this point but the return to a historical setting is certainly appealing.Comment
