I play with a guy who was stationed as well at another fort. He tells me that this game reminds him exactly of those days and he is now hooked on it as his favorite game.Comment

Re: The Hunter : Call of the Wild
This thread inspired me to buy this game despite the fact that I would never do any hunting in real life because I could never shoot an animal. But anyways I started playing last night and the graphics, lighting and sound design are indeed absolutely amazing.Comment

Re: The Hunter : Call of the Wild
Played 90+ minutes tonight, never shot my gun once. Still was a good night. Such a beautiful world and they nailed down making it feel and sound like I'm really there.

I constantly imagine what other types of games would be like with this engine. The world is incredible. I can't imagine what it'd be like if we could magically keep the quality and detail of the world and add more mechanics to the game. Hell, if they took this game and somehow turned it into a survival game where hunting was a big part of surviving I may never leave my house.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: The Hunter : Call of the Wild
Honestly, I wouldn't even need PVP. Give me seasons and having to fight the weather and hunt/farm based on the seasons plus other resources and I'd be in heaven. Of course that is getting off topic some, but a 7 Days to Die type game or any other survival game out there built on top of this game just seems to me like it would be one of the best out there. Obviously there would be a lot of work to put looting and crafting into the game, but the environment and actual hunting would be second to none.
Another thing I have imagined is historical hunting. I'd love setting traps and hunting smaller game as if you were a fur trader 200+ years ago.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: The Hunter : Call of the Wild
I was creeping through the woods trying to get me a Red Fox and all of a sudden I hear about 3-4 Bison walking near me. I laid down to try and stay hidden. For a bit it seemed I would make it.... I didn't. He ran me over few times and killed me. I will say the second he charged me I jumped and squealed. I didn't even intend to take this picture. I had taken one before when he was standing still scanning around. When he charged and scared me I must have panicked and pushed down on the key to get the picture.
Also, this game never ceases to amaze me with how beautiful it can be.

Re: The Hunter : Call of the Wild
I've not purchased a "true" hunting game to date, but man, this looks like the one to get. I'll probably wait for a PS4 sale but this game is definitely on my radar.www.heyimbill.com | sports poster art and other cool stuffComment
